Contendender Ent. releases DVDs from HKL masters?
Sad to see HKL has closed business. I also noticed on amazon.co.uk Contender Entertainment sells some, maybe all, of HKL´s DVD titles. Would that be the same transfers, extras, commentaries etc.?

I don't claim to be an authority on the matter, but I believe Contender Entertainment is simply the name of their umbrella distributor. So basically if you are looking at a listing that indicates Contender Entertainment it would be the equivalent of the listing reading Hong Kong Legends...so you should be fine with the Contender DVDs.

I'm pretty sure flixtime is right. Amazon, for example, will often list the umbrella distributor rather than the actual genre label, such as maybe 'Genius Products' or 'Weinstein Company' instead of 'Dragon Dynasty'. I'm no authority on HKL either, but I seem to remember reading that they used to have a different umbrella distributor, and then at some point Contender picked up distribution, with packaging remaining almost identical except w/ the contender logo on there somewhere, i.e. it's still HKL, just via Contender instead of whoever it was before.
