Where is Spider-Man The Series (Live Action)

I was wondering why no one has released this series on DVD yet? I remember watching it on USA with my dad when I was 8 or 9 and would love a complete series DVD set. Is there some legal snafu holding it up or what?

No clue; I can only imagine that the old VHS releases did terrible sales.

I also seem to recall Stan Lee saying as far as he was concerned, they'd never see the light of day again.

The old series with Nicholas Hammond? I have a few VHS tapes from an old USA network marathon.

It's not an original USA network show, though. I remember watching it on CBS when it first aired in the late 70's when I was 7 or so.

As far as Stan Lee, that's his opinion... but it doesn't matter at all. He has no say in what goes on at Marvel comics.

I don't think Marvel owns the rights to that show.

If they can put the live action Hulk out on DVD, I don't understand why this isn't out.

I imagine it's because "The Incredible Hulk" is generally considered a relatively well-made, well-loved, high-quality show. This one, not so much. (Don't get me wrong, I loved it as a kid, but I highly doubt it holds up as well as "Hulk" does.)

They clearly could not release it because the sheer amount of funkiness in the theme song would rekindle the disco revolution.

Very, very little of what we loved as a kid holds up well today. Just about the only stuff I loved as a kid that holds up well to day are movies/tv shows that were NOT kids shows by any stretch of the imagination.

Pretty much. I remembered my first time seeing the Adam West Batman tv series as an adult and thinking "what the hell did I see in this show????"

Because that and Batman were good shows, each in their own way.

I loved the string that fell out of his wrist... it didnt even shoot out.

You can find bootlegged sets of this show at conventions, if you feel inclined to waste your money.

I guess that was pretty much my point: The Incredible Hulk actually does hold up. At least it does for me. Then again, I'm a relatively immature adult.

On the other hand, at least you'd have a copy to watch so it's not that much of a waste of money.

I think giving money to bootleggers is always a waste of money.

I remember being unimpressed with this when this originally aired and I was like 8 years old.
