Full Metal Jacket?

What is this the best version to get?

I see Dvd Profiler shows an 16*9 release in 10/23/2007 is this the final release?

Let me restate, is this the newest and best release?

Absent the imminent collapse of western civilization, we'll all be dead long before the final release of Full Metal Jacket.

"Full Metal Jacket" has not been rereleased in the five months since the October release. That would be taking double-dips a bit too far, don't you think?

And because that release has been out for more than five months, there are existing threads about it. Here's a good one: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=515184

also note that this release can not be had by itself. it must be purchased with the big Kubrick set, which is a shame. one reason i am thinking of importing the steelie.

i'm just going to wait for a better sale, than the opening week price on the box set...patience almost is always rewarded in this hobby/obsession, and i've no reason to think it won't be this time.

Some people prefer the open matte 4x3 version as they feel it's how Kubrick preferred it though this is highly debatable and I'm sure you can find 15 other threads about the framing.

I wasn't aware of that. The HD DVD and Blu-ray discs, thankfully, are available individually.
