DC's Avalon Theatre, Legacy Campaign

I just wanted to give a shot out to this campaign the Avalon is doing to all Washingtonians here at DVDTalk:

"The campaign is a community effort to raise $2 million for the historic theater. This campaign will fund renovations and help secure the future of the independently owned and operated theater. We will also be celebrating the theater's 85th year in operation, and the 5th anniversary of the reopening of the theater as a nonprofit community film center."

Avalon Legacy Campaign

The theatre could really use as much help and money for their endeavours since the money raised would be used for:

- the installation of an Elevator for access to Avalon auditorium 2
- Renovation of Avalon 2's lobby
- New energy efficient heating and air-conditioning and full electrical upgrade

they didn't post this on their website, but roof work over Auditorium 1 needs money allocated for repairs as well.

Is this the place near the top of Connecticut, right below the circle, in Chevy Chase?

yes it is ... and I felt I accomplished a part of my mission, I got a friend of mine, to make a 100 dollar contribution to this over the weekend.
