Michael Clayton is better than No Country For Old Men
I just saw Michael Clayton. Great acting, great story and then afterwards I rewatched my No Country DVD. I don't know why but I think its one of my least favorite Coen films just a couple notches above the lawyer movie with George Clooney that I'm too lazy to look up.

Lets make a whole new thread about it! Screw the review threads that already exist. Your opinion, Ronnie Dobbs, is much too important to lump in with those other two threads.

I second this motion. NCFOM is just a bloody hitman movie, masquerading as a morality tale that will save us all.

If you measure both films by just the first 90%, No Country is miles better than Clayton... but if you judge them on the last 10%, Clayton all the way. Both movies are good and neither has anything to do with each other, so I don't understand the comparison.

Heh, I'm up for some friendly piling on...
I haven't seen Michael Clayton, but there were 103 movies or shorts last year I found better than the Coens' latest.
Here are a few American (or at least English language) works released in 2007 that easily surpassed No Country for Old Men:
Inland Empire
The Cats of Mirikitani
Helvetica
Rescue Dawn
Once
Starting Out in the Evening
Eastern Promises
Southland Tales
The Simpsons Movie
Sunshine
The Bourne Ultimatum
Enchanted
Stardust

Clayton didn't deserve its Best Picture nom, NCFOM was one of the best of '07.
