I could've sworn I saw one by DVD Savant a few days ago, but it's nowhere to be found.
Perhaps I was seeing things...?

EDIT: Here it is. It's not in the regular search engine, oddly enough.
I'll email the editor to see what's up...

Noticed the same too. I was expecting for a review ahead of its release date.

Hows this for a review: "It's a solid little horror movie. The dvd looks/sounds good and is packed with useful extras. Buy."

It's new and it's shiney!

What other reason do you need.

James :-)

obviously this isn't a review but I watched it last night and unfortunately, as much as I wanted to like this movie, I was pretty disappointed...can't pinpoint why, exactly...anyone else have this reaction?

I love horror and a lot of sci-fi. I love Frank Darabont's movies. I love Thomas Ian Jane. I love King's work.

Just couldn't buy the premise, couldn't connect to the characters and man, that ending...wow...talk about depression. Solid C+ for effort?

For effort? A goddamn A+.

Darabont put a lot into making this flick on the quick and for low $. I think he did a phenomenal job and this is one of the finest horror films I've seen in YEARS. And I'm a rabid horror fan.

an A+ ?? I dont think it deserve that much for effort.. the movie was ok not what I excpected and the ending wasnt the same as in the book. It became too predictible. I mean it could have been so much better being that it was Stephen King. It could have had an alternate ending as well. I wasnt fond of the ending at all.

It was an excellent movie for special effects, but the Stephen King, New England morality play gets old.

However, the special effects and premise redeem the movie, which would make me want to buy the DVD.

I give it a 3 out of a possible 5 on the effects and premise alone.

I liked it...

I watched the B&W version and then did some of the extras (which have some color scenes in it) and I have to say I am glad I watched the B&W first. It does have a totally different impact.

As far as the ending goes, I liked it. There was a lot of setup before it and the execution of it was perfect.

I agree that the ending was a big downer.. it had all of us watching why the change in ending. Watching it in b/w would of course have a different affect overing in viewing . The special affects deserve praise!
