We at DVDTALK are extremely sad at your deprivation and are talking to Sony about your plight.

I wish Fry's was closer, but I'd spend so much on gas, they would end up being $12 by the time I got there.

And it would be $16 by the time you returned home. ;-)

Actually another option that sometimes works is a price match at another store. I bought the Lucky # Slevin HD-DVD from my local Best Buy earlier today for $7.99 after they matched the Fry's price. I just brought the actual Fry's ad and the cashier did a price adjustment on the spot. (He did need to get a supervisor's override but that went smoothly.)

Fry's is a 30-min drive for me so I also pricematch as much as possible and never have any trouble at Best Buy. Pricematching, however, doesn't let me browse all the random or weird stuff Fry's can have on sale, especially computer and electronics equipment. Or astronaut ice cream.

Fry's is by far my favorite electronics store. Their DVD selection surpasses Best Buy on all fronts.

Consider yourself VERY lucky if your BestBuy pricematches any store's 1-day sale or limited hours specials. My BB never does and claims it will only match weekly ads.

My Best Buy has never even pricematched a Fry's ad for me. They don't consider them a main competitor.

I've never actually seen a Frys in my life (although the commercials are constantly on the TV). I'm convinced they don't exist, and it's all a huge gag orchestrated to annoy me. Yes, I have a rather healthy ego.

Well, I have never seen a Hollister in my life but I keep seeing people wearing their brand. I mean, am I crazy?! If people keep wearing them, I must see the stores, musn't I?! Am I blind?!

They're all closed on Easter. This sale was for yesterday. They also have a 2-Day sale starting tomorrow.

kind of a weak selection. fry's regular weekly ads have better stuff. hopefully tomorrow's 2-day sale is better.

Yeah, there's a sign saying there will be deals going on tomorrow.
