Favorite Aerosmith studio CD?

Totys In The Attic by a country mile. Aerosmith doesn't exist after about 1983 to me. Completely different sound, no balls in the music. "Getting clean" ruined them musically; they became businessmen.

I was a fan back in the day (1973-1977) and I have always struggled when asking myself to pick either GYW, TITA, or Rocks for my one desert island selection. That said, this thirty year struggle has always ended the same:

Rocks
Toys In The Attic
Get Your Wings
Aerosmith
then everything else...
Favorite song is "Nobody's Fault" from 'Rocks'. Sounds like Alice In Chains, but 20 years earlier. Nasty!
Many more favorite songs, but definitely "Seasons of Wither", "No Surprise", "Back In The Saddle", "Last Child", and "No More No More". Oh, and "Adam's Apple" was always a big favorite, even covered that in a band once!

I'll also go with Rocks followed by Toys.
Toys is a great album but Rocks gets the edge with Sick As A Dog,Get The Lead Out and the underated Lick And A Promise as the highlights for me.
Strangely, a few of my fave songs appear on bad albums.
Chiquita from Night In The Ruts.
Lightning Strikes and Jaibait from Rock in a Hard Place.
My Fist Your Face from Done With Mirrors.
I was a huge Aerosmith fan until i saw them live in 78 where they were blown off stage by a Bon Scott led AC/DC.Maybe this was an off night but remains one of the worst concerts i've seen.

The first two have always been my favorites. I like Toys in the Attic, Rocks, Draw the Line and Right in the Nuts equally as second place choices. Everything after that sucks.
All time favorite song: Four Way Street
Other favorites: Somebody, Write Me, Movin' Out, Seasons of Wither, Uncle Salty, Lick and a Promise, Kings and Queens and The Hand That Feeds.

I got into them after their comeback so my favorites are Pump and Get A Grip.

I agree with zombiezilla. Aerosmith was great before they broke up in the late 70's - early 80's. They started out being a good hard rockin band then after they got back together, the magic was gone for me. The first two albums ( Aerosmith & Rocks ) are my favorite from them. My personal best song would be Combination. I like that gutair introduction. I also like Rats in the Cellar,Sick as a Dog & S.O.S. (Too Bad )

Toys and Rocks are essential rock albums, period. Pump is still their high point in their comback years.
One of the neat things in the last few years of touring, for the endless greatest hits comps they seem to crank out, is their playlist has been heavy on the classic stuff. Last time I saw them they played Rats, Chip Away at the Stone, Seasons of Wither, No More No More...

I'd have to go with Toys In The Attic, then Rocks or Get Your Wings. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the latter, as it was the first Aerosmith album I ever got.
Personally, some of my fave Aerosmith tunes were ones that weren't the 'major' hits, stuff like "No More, No More", "Sick As A Dog", "Seasons Of Wither" and "Make It". I also quite like "No Surpise" , "Chiqiuta" and "Refer Headed Woman" off of Night In The Ruts, too.

people are too harsh on comeback Aerosmith. They did get a little too soft and poppy when they were introduced to Alicia Silverstone, and performing onstage with Britney wasn't exactly a high point either, but "Permanent Vacation" and "Pump" were both stellar albums. Granted, not as good as Rocks, but not worthy of the "Aerosupply" moniker fans have bestowed them

Rocks. The band themselves admit this is there best album (so why don't they play anything from it live?)
Aerosmith has only had one bad album, Just Push Play, what a horrible horrible album.
