Films set during the Gold Rush and Oil Boom era (1849-1925)

With the recent success of There Will Be Blood, it got me thinking about other films set during the Oil Boom/Gold Rush era that would be worth revisiting.

The first that comes to my mind is The Claim. It's been a while since I've seen this film and I think I'll check it out again soon.

Any other good films worth revisiting? I'm specifically talking about films set between 1849-1925.

I came in this thread to mention that one as well. Classic.

And there you have your definitive answer. As an added bonus, it was filmed during the actual time period that you are looking for. Can't beat that for authenticity!

These are all great titles that have been mentioned. I would have mentioned "The Gold Rush" myself but I was actually looking for more recent attempts at recreating this era.

Any recommendations of films from this era that were released in the last 15 to 20 years?

The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean sort of ends in the oil boom era!
