What would you do with Transformers Generation 1 box sets
Apparently I've been reading that they are OOP. Is there a point to keep them long term? Will they be worth more for resale 5-10 years from now? I just like having them because I grew up watching them, but I could care less about "OOP" or "Collector's items." I just want to scrape up some cash to start my new Blu Ray habit.
What would you do? Sell now and buy cheaper set or Keep the OOP seasons.

If I had them? I'd play them whenever my nephew visited. Seven years old and in love with Transformers, so I've been getting old episodes on YouTube and the like to show him. If I could find the season sets for a reasonable price I'd bite.
Yesterday my nephew and niece sat down together and watched "The Girl Who Loved Powerglide", which is quite possibly the worst thing ever, but it's nostalgia. Me and my brother (their dad) found ourselves knowing the lines off by heart.

yeah i think i got around $250 collectively in the last few months for just the season 3 and 4 sets.
I'm a big fan, but don't mind cashing in while they are still valuable. The series will have to be re-released at some point and then the value of these will plummet. Similar to Twin Peaks Season 1 and the Muppet Show Time Life 15 disc set. Those were selling for around $200-250 a set, but have plummeted since being re-released.

I had Season One Volume One and sold it last year after the movie came out. Figured it was a good time to ditch it since there'd probably be a higher interest in it and I'm not going to pay a premium to get the others since they'll probably get released again.

I sold mine for about $350 a couple months ago, I had watched all them, and I'm hopefully they'll be re-released some day, same thing as the G.I. Joe DVD's.

I sold my complete series set for $420 shipped on ebay back in August, then bought the awesome R4 boxed set here http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/793042 for around $150 shipped and pocketed mthe rest. In my opinion, this set is superior to the Rhino releases. And the retro packaging is really damn cool.

Dude, sell.
I can't even get through more than 1 or 2 episodes now that I am a grown adult. Sheesh. You will be much happier with a PS3 or something like that for the same price!
