Star Trek Voyager Price Drops!
Looks like Paramont finally let go and made official price drops on all seasons of Voyager. You can get some of these sets on BN.com in the B2G1F sale.

Only 1,4, and 5 are part of the sale. They are each at the new $70 retail price. The other seasons are on sale for 10 or 15% off, but not part of the B2G1F sale...

Bought season 1 at Columbia House last night for $46.47 shipped, and got Across the Universe (2 disc) for free using B1G1 code. They have all seasons and also Deep Space Nines for $38.48 plus 7.99 shipping.

Hmm, that's a crappy price for R1 sets. You can get each season from R2 UK for about 30 bucks, plus they've got more bonus features. I know the packaging is different, but it really isn't worth paying twice as much for.

At $70 List, these are great prices for this series for my significant other! He insists that this is the best ST series to date, so I'll definitely welcome the price drop.
These make for an ideal birthday gift!

$ 325.68 on DD http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewprod...ductId=5781589 or $260.54 after 20% off sale.
Enterprise has now dropped to a decent $148.88 after 20% also. Wish I had gotten it for $25 from that Wal-mart screw up a while back but oh well.

I've been waiting for a price drop on these sets. If DD has a 20% sale in the spring I'll pick up the entire run.

Heh, I thought that after NINE years everyone's got a region free player, even in US (they were on every corner in Europe on the second year of the format, early 2000).

Yeah, I'd recommend R2 sets for all seasons and all series of Star Trek. If you don't mind the slim amarays over big ugly plastic boxes of R1 and have a PAL compatible TV (or a converting PAL to NTSC region-free DVD player).

Back in the day, I had the UK sets for Angel and Buffy before they were released in the US (my favorite shows and I couldn't wait)....I was more than happy to sell them off on Ebay and get the correct sounding presentations as they became available here....I think Xander had it the worst, sounded like he had suffered some permanent testicular trauma with his voice that much higher...

The entire Voyager Season 1-7 set has now dropped to $260.54 at both Deep Discount and DVD Planet.
I bought it 2 weeks too early and paid an extra $80! Ahh well.
My least favorite Trek - some shows are just painful to watch, but there are still some gems and $260 is a great deal.
I had some problems finding it at DVD Planet (their search engine seems a little finicky)... so here's the actual URLs...

At Amazon you can get 1-7 set for $378 which is $54 per season while DDD has it for $260 which is $35 each. I don't think you will find it much better than that new.

I see that Enterprise has also come down to a reasonable price as well. I might have to pick up the series set when the next sale comes around, $29 buck a season is hard to beat.
I hated how when the series aired that it was in letterboxed widescreen, but not in HD! That, and my UPN affiliate had the crappiest signal quality over my cable. It would be great to rewatch the series in anamorphic widescreen!
