Here, at last, is the official ballot for the SIXTH Annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror awards, recognizing the best in monster research, creativity and genre appreciation.

These awards are by fans, for fans. Every Rondo nominee below is being recognized for a significant achievement in the genre. So take a look at the ballot and let the nominees know how much we appreciate their work by voting.

Here's how to vote:

-- All voting is by email only. Simply send an email with your picks to me (David Colton), at [email protected] by midnight, March 8, 2008.

-- Winners will be announced the following night (March 9, 2008), here at the Classic Horror Film Board and at the awards official website at rondoaward.com.

-- There are some NEW RULES this year. Please follow this link and take a look, especially nominees.

-- But in brief, every email must include your name to count. All votes are kept strictly confidential. No email addresses or any personal information will ever be shared with anyone. Organized voting (duplicated ballots, mailing lists), are strongly discouraged.

-- A. GHASTLEE GHOUL (Bob Hinton). One of the founders of the Horror Host Underground, his radio and TV shows still run in Dayton, Ohio.

-- THE BONE JANGLER. Airing in Illinois for six years, he's even got an afternoon show.

-- COUNT GORE DE VOL (Dick Dyzsel). A Washington, D.C. fixture for years, his Creature Feature weekly web program has kept the spirit alive. He's also a driving force behind the Horror Host Underground movement.

-- DR. GANGRENE (Larry Underwood). His live shows are legendary at WonderFest, and he appears on TV in Nashville, hosting films the old-fashioned way. His website is Dr. Gangrene's Chiller Theater.

-- GHOUL A GO GO (Long Island). This 'monster kid' show by Vlad, Creighton and the Invisible Man recalls the best of Disc-O-Teen and appears on DVD. They are convention favorites.

-- GRAVELY MacCABRE and GRIZELDA. They run a regional cable in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, built around a haunted attraction.

-- MORGUS THE MAGNIFICENT. Sid Noel Rideau's shows still play in New Orleans, where he started in 1959.

-- ORMON GRIMSBY (Craig Vance). His Monster Creature Feature plays on RTN 10 in Raleigh, N.C.

-- PENNY DREADFUL the 13th (Danielle Gelehrter). Her show airs throughout the New England region on cable access channels, featuring films and skits.

-- PROFESSOR ANTON GRIFFIN (Joseph Fotinos). The professor's Midnight Shadow Show has helped keep the horror host community alive.

-- PROFESSOR EMCEE SQUARE (Mark Menold). His It's Alive show includes movies and skits and appears on WBGN in Pittsburgh.

-- SON OF GHOUL (Kevin Scarpino). Still on the air after 21 years on 2 channels in Akron/Cleveland and in California.

-- SVENGOOLIE (Rich Koz). The successor to Chicago's original, Svengoolie has been playing Universal classics in the past year, including Dracula and the Mummy.

First of all, thanks to everyone for being so patient. As you can see by the ballot, the Rondos are no small task, and I thank the small army of folks who helped me out, especially in the final hours.

Know, too, that something so intensely selective can never be totally right. If I've misspelled something, misstated something or oh-my-God-how-could-you-forget someone, please let me know right away. The Rondos are neither perfect nor foolproof.

Also know that not every nomination made the ballot, but all were considered and weighed against others in the same category. And nominating emails do not count as votes now that the balloting has started.

We've added a few categories (Best DVD Collection, Best Audio, Best Active Horror Host!), dropped some (Best TV DVD Collection is gone. Almost everything is on DVD now). And we've shaken up a few categories -- Best Website has numerous new entries.

We've also tightened the rules a bit since last year. Please take a look.

-- All work must have appeared in 2007. In some cases, work may have been published or available late in 2006, and we do make exceptions in such cases.

-- Voters can vote in as many or as few categories as they want. All ballots -- either cut-and-pasted or typed -- must be emailed to [email protected] by March 8, 2008 at midnight, wherever you are in the world!

-- All votes will be kept strictly confidential. No email addresses, names or choices will ever be shared with anyone.

-- In all categories, votes are not for 'favorites,' but for work produced in the previous year. Example: In write-in categories such as Best Writer and Best Artist, creators need to have produced a substantial amount of work in 2007. It is not a vote simply for your favorite writer or artist in general.

-- In the Best Book category, reissues of books are not normally eligible unless the book has been substantially revised, or its re-appearance is in itself noteworthy.

-- In the Best Magazine category, at least one issue of the magazine must have appeared in 2007.

-- In the Best Website category, the website needs to have had new content in 2007. Similarly, the Best Horror Host (New Generation), category will only include hosts active in 2007.

-- Write-ins are accepted and counted. But organized voting campaigns are strongly discouraged and can result, at the sole discretion of the Rondo Awards Program, in disqualification.

-- Examples: No mass-emailed or duplicate ballots -- such as chainmails of ballots, or ballots already filled-in and mailed to friends -- will be accepted. In cases where there are such obvious attempts to affect the voting, the nominee can be disqualified.

-- The bottom line: Let's try to keep this a fun vote for monster fans.
