Okay, that's a pretty shitty list seeing as how most are pretty well know books/authors, most of which I've read.

First Blood. Read it.
The Thing/Who Goes There. Read it.
Who Framed/Censored Roger Rabbit: Read it.
Psycho. Read it.
Dr. Strangelove/Red Alert. I've heard about the connection before but never read the book.
Planet of the Apes. Read it.
Death Wish. This one was news to me.
Die Hard/Nothing Lasts Forever. Also news to me.

I knew about all of those (sorry), and have read some of them.

That article was pretty funny. I didn't know about Rambo and Die Hard.

And the Death Wish novel is about as boring as can be. 150 pages of Paul Kersey sitting around his apartment with a gun in his hand.

About Roger Rabbit:

Spoiler:
Oh, did we forget to mention that Roger Rabbit gets machine gunned to death?

No, seriously. That actually happens. Apparently, he never learned the old "rabbit season, duck season" trick. When's the last time that you saw that happen in a Disney movie? Aside from Bambi's mother. Or, the mom from Finding Nemo. Or, Mufasa from the Lion King. OK we guess Disney's sort of messed up too.

I never knew Die Hard was based on one.

I've read First Blood, and it's a great book.

Spoiler:
BIG difference: Rambo dies at the end, shot in the head with a shotgun by Trautman.

I would think a good number of movie buffs know these.

I was well aware of all of them except Dr. Strangelove...in fact, like the other poster, I'd also read most of the books.

The only two I didn't realize were books are Dr. Strangelove and Death Wish. I'd be curious to check out that Bloch-written "Psycho II," though.
