Wal-Mart Seinfeld Fiasco
I bought the 5 season on dvd last week from wal-mart (in canada). After watching all the dvd's I found an extra disc in a disc sleeve in the box. It says on it "exclusive cd... stand-up comedy from "seinfeld", seasons 1-6 ... your free gift exclusively at FUTURESHOP." This blew my mind. But wait, it gets better; I pop it into my cd player and it won't read it. So I put it in my dvd player and up pops a menu that gives my the choice of watching one episode of either Married with Children, Newsradio, Just Shoot Me, or The Nanny. No sign of Seinfeld anywhere on the disc. In case anyone didn't know, futureshop here is owned by bestbuy, but it still doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. Any Suggestions?

My guess is that someone got it as a gift and returned it to Walmart instead of Futureshop. They neglected to pull off the sticker on the front before restocking it.

If you ordered it through Deep Discount and got the dvd with that sticker, people would be up in arms about how horrible they are and 100 new threads would appear.
My guess as to why it happened is the same at Mr. NitroJMS.

How about this, if you bought something and there was something wrong with it, return it from where you bought it and exchange it for a new one.
Unless I'm missing something here.

If he returns it to Wal-Mart, where he purchased the set, he won't get another one with the extra disc, which was a Futureshop exclusive. I don't see a way to get this disc replaced.

Sometimes distributors move old stock around. Last year, Walmart's were stocked with an exclusive best buy original King Kong tin, that included mighty joe young and son of kong.

I would contacted Wal-Mart corporate. We can't be getting free additional items in box sets.

I don't see how this is a problem or a fiasco even. So you got an extra disc, that you didn't even know you were going to get, and, it WORKS. deal with it! It didn't replace one of your seinfield DVDs so, whats the big deal??
I used to work for best buy and we used to have to send massive amounts of DVDs back to our warehouse, where, we would either redistrubite them to other best buys if they were out, or, we would sell them to other companies (wal-mart, k-mart, CC, target, etc etc). so, yes, you probably either got a copy that some idiot returned, OR you got a copy that wal-mart purchased from another retailer. What a fiasco!
