I can't wait to see Cloverfield pulverize this weak competition next week. I still can't believe Alvin made that much money.

Uwe Boll's new film opened on Friday in 13th place with an estimated $975,000. That's awesome

So...

House of the Dead: $10.2 million total ($12 million budget)
Bloodrayne: $2.4 million total ($25 million budget)
Alone in the Dark: $5.1 million total ($20 million budget)
In the Name of the King: $975,000 opening day (on a $60 million budget)

Can't believe I Am Legend is at #5. People sure do love Will Smith.

Supposedly, There Will Be Blood is supposed to hit town Friday so I'll be checking that out.

I can't think of one single thing from the "First Sunday" trailer that would cause anyone to think "I want to see that."

Alvin made that much money because it's the only kid friendly movie out right now.

I continue to be amazed that Jason Statham still gets work. His resume isn't too impressive, yet he continues to land lead roles.

Well, that Dungeon Siege movie was originally supposed to be released in the fall of 2006 - in 2 parts.

2 Words: Katt Williams

He was funny in those previews, the best thing about AVP-R to me was seeing that trailer

The ironic thing is that Katt Williams' stand-up is actually funny and enjoyable, yet his film career so far has been complete shit.

It's not like Dane Cook who has actually made two decent films, Katt Williams is batting like 0 for 6, 7, 8, or however many films he partaken in as of now.

Will Cloverfield end up becoming "Son of Snakes on a Plane"?

On a boring weekend like this, I wish Dungeon Siege had made $25 Million.

It's highly doubtful. Cloverfield will rake it in.

Stuck on You and Dan In Real Life were decent. I heard Mr. Brooks was good too.

People saw Stuck on You?

I was referring to Mr. Brooks and Dan In Real Life.

And remember, I said decent. However, I did like Mr. Brooks a lot. Very underrated flick and probably will be the only Kevin Costner film I actually enjoy.

I don't think so.

New Line had no advance screenings of Snakes on a Plane. Meaning no advance buzz from critics, let alone audiences who could've caught the flick. All it had was word of mouth from internet fanboys cumming all over the fact Sam Jackson would be using the word "motherfucker." The average moviegoer probably didn't get too excited over that fact nor the idea of snakes on a plane (as seen by that film's poor performance in theaters -- which I also blame on the fact it should've been released much sooner than August where I think most of the hype already died down by then).

On top of that, the Cloverfield's teaser was attached to what was one of the biggest films of 2007. Ironically, the same film which most of the posters on this board said was doomed to failure. And the one thing everyone remembers about the teaser was the film's prominent date (1-18-08) as there was no title.

I don't think the film will flop, especially with such a low budget. It's just hard to determine how well it can do. Remember, the biggest opening weekend in January was over 10 years ago for the re-release of Star Wars.

after watching the new 30 rock I just wana go to see Tracy Morgan. Even if the movie does suck.. Something tells me it will be worth at least 5 laughs. I never go see movies that I think will be bad, but for some reason I kinda want to see this knowing it will be bad.

"Complete shit" to who? He's very popular with Urban Audiences. Trust me, it's a "cultural thing"...

Imagine if you were German, and had to go see every movie starring or made by German people.
