The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie: Sing-Along Songs and More is available at Christian bookstores (B & M and online) and possibly some mainstream DVD stores, for about $10. Enclosed is HollywoodMovieMoney worth $8 for a kid's ticket for The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie, being released by Universal on 1/11. (It may be useable for another film.) The coupon is good until 1/25.

I added a listing for the Pepperidge Farms Fred Clause Sweepstakes. There is an instant win on-line portion of the sweepstakes giving away sets of four (4) Hollywood Movie Money tickets good for any movie. The game ends on January 15, 2008 so get there soon.

Good luck!

@ ga5vin -- Too many acronyms in the world today. I know SMP as a computer term. I looked it up on an acronym website and found 250 -eek- different definitions. Luckily my daughter knew SMP was "specially marked packages" off the top of her head. I added -SMP- indicators into the table. SMP is pretty much a "common knowledge" thing except for these offers where the tickets are seperate (i.e. The Name of the King Best Buy promotion)

@ blue888 -- speedy1961 listed the ticket as "Free Movie Cash on Pack" in his weekly Best Buy prices thread.

@ Michael Corvin -- Thanks! I hope you don't mind the changes.

@ All -- Speaking of changes, table entries are in expiration date order: either by the ticket expiration or the offer expiration....whichever is the limiting factor. Expiring table entries will "fall off" the bottom of the table. --- Also, I dropped the "Starting" column. I figured any information in the column could be added into the details column. Besides, I needed the space.

I picked up one of the "In the Name of the King" movie money tickets at Best Buy. This is a 20th Century Fox promotion in that you have to purchase one of 28 fox titles to get the movie money for free. The ticket comes with a preview disc for "In the Name of the King". The disc contains three scenes from the movie and three previews: "In the Name of the King", "The Hit Man", "Aliens vs Predator Requiem".

For Fox to fill seats at the theater during the opening weeks of "In the Name of the King", this promotion should have started 30 days earlier. The "SuperBad" tickets are a good example as they seems to be available weeks before the movie opened.

Was in Best Buy today. It's not just the Transformers, Charlotte's Web and Lemony Snicket that have the Spiderwick ticket. I picked-up two copies of Failure to Launch (ugh) for $4.99 a piece with a free ticket. I can gift these away. Sorry I can't recall many of the titles though. (Mean Girls, Stardust were two.)

The ticket is different too. It's a small sticker on the outside of the package. You peel off the sticker, go to the web site and enter the unique code. You then print-off the movie money as an Adobe Acrobat file. Saves them on printing tickets and packaging them, but I can't see why unethical people won't just rip-off the stickers without paying for the movie.

Also, I had the ticket for "In the Name of the King" but it is out of theaters prior to the Feb. 18th expiration. I contacted Hollywood Movie money and they told me to mail in the non-expired certificate and within a week I had a generic certificate good for any movie up to $12.50! Great customer service! So, if you know a movie is a stinker and has a short shelf-life this is a great deal!

I went into Best Buy today and also noted they had tickets to Semi-Pro with purchase of select New Line titles. I don't remember them all... but I do recall that the ticket is free with the purcahse of Mr. Woodcock, Rush Hour (1-3), Dumb and Dumber (Unrated or the old WS/FS disc), Wedding Crashers, Wag the Dog (priced at $14.99, yikes!), A Prarie Home Companion, Tenacious D, and I think a few others. Don't know what the ticket is valued at, though (couldn't find the amount on the package).

Also, good luck with the Circuit City deal on the Vantage Point tickets. I went there today and they had no clue what I was talking about. I showed them the ad and than they were like it is only on specially marked packages so I walked them over to the box and showed them that not one DVD was specially marked showing the ticket included. I said why don't you type Vantage Point in your computer or look in the back and than they basically just said sorry and went back to helping other customers. Great customer service indeed.

I was at CC today (always an experience). The display says tickets are in th dvds, but all the dvds were random old CC dvds (Legends of the Fall had a sticker that said free ticket to the Divinci Code). Finally a CC employee (who had no clue, I truly wonder how they stay in business) went back to look and brought out a box of movie tickets (kept at the register). When I bought the Patriot, the movie ticket wouldn't scan so they just gave it to me (you can see the possibilities this would open up, considering I now have a receipt for the Patriot with no mention of a movie ticket on it). Ethics could come into question here, depending on how many movie tickets you want and how many movies you want to return. For me, it didn't matter, as I've been wanting the Patriot for a while and just never got around to it, so I'm happy. Movies in St. Louis are like 8.75/ticket and this cost me 7.51/with tax for a movie and a dvd. Not bad.

What was the value of the ticket?

02-11-08, 10:33 PM
I had the same experience at CC today. There were two boxes of the tickets that they finally found in the back, they say they have a value up to $10.00 on them. I picked up "Donnie Brasco" (the 2007 release, extended cut) with the shiny slipcover, too. Also picked up the Richard Pryor stand-up double feature, although I don't know if I'll keep this. They didn't have much left when I got there today, but considering I got two tickets worth more than the movies themselves, for a movie I probably would have seen anyway, I can't complain.

Expires 03/30/08, by the way.

hey josh, went to my local bb last week and they had a seperate stand for these movies. one side of the rack had the dvds, the other side the semi pro ticket in a slim dvd case. each level of racks had the semi pro ticket. so im guessing it would not be hard to miss. the only possible way to miss it is if you went browsing for the films in the genre aisles.

I wouldn't say they're dumb, they just can't possibly keep up with every little detail of every item sold in their store.

That said, I can not think of a reason to ever talk to a store employee for any reason. It is not really their fault, but they are never any help.

At Wal-Mart, I found two discs packaged side by side that contain Hollywood Movie Money to see Dr. Seuss' Hotron Hears a Who! The disc on the right is a bonus disc for Horton that contains a couple of featurettes (including the scene where Horton crosses the wooden bridge). This bonus disc does not include the actual Horton movie. On the left is one of four discs: Mrs. Doubtfire (behind-the-seams edition), Home Alone (family fun edition), Ice Age (super-cool edition), or Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.

The Hollywood Movie Money ticket for Horton is located inside the movie disc....not inside the Horton bonus disc.

* Look at specially-marked packages of Twizzlers, Hershey's Minatures, Hershey's Nuggets, Kisses, Reese's and York candy to find the Mega Movie Points.

Cool, between myself - a Twizzler junkie and my mom - a York junkie - I'll be able to get a good number of free movie tickets before the offer expires next March. (Yeah I know a limit of four per household but I can get around that as I have a grandma and aunt that will help me out.) It also helps that a local supermarket always has that size of Twizzlers for $1 and York for $1.49 a bag.

I need your help with this one...

There's some kind of free tickets promotion at Wal-Mart. Take a look on that "I" shaped rack that normally sits out in an asile with $9.44 DVDs on one side and $13.72 DVD's on the other. Near one end of the rack are a number of DVDs with small triangular stickers on the covers that say "Movie Cash" or "Concession Cash". I believe I've seen 15-20 different titles with the stickers offering different rewards.

I've added this promotion to the table but the entries are not complete. I need your help in identifying which titles have which rewards. Please post the movie title, format (FS or WS), and the ticket reward ($5.00 concession cash, $7.50 movie ticket, or $12 movie ticket). Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

Update...April 11th...

I took some notes at a local Wal-Mart and have updated the entries in the table. Let me know if you spot additional titles.

Just my opinion Discguy, but I think you can lose the possibly confusing "smp". All of these deals always have the DVD marked in some way, and I would hope that no one would buy something expecting a freebie inside it unless it was marked as such.

I think you can lose the possibly confusing "smp". <B><U>All of these deals always have the DVD marked in some way</b></u>, and I would hope that no one would buy something expecting a freebie inside it unless it was marked as such.

Not all of these deals have the DVD marked in some way.

The intended purpose of the -smp- marker (specially marked packages) is to differentiate between offers with some kind of sticker on the DVD packaging (indicating a freebie inside) and those offers where the tickets are packaged separately --- like the "21" tickets at Best Buy or the "Other Boleyn Girl/Vantage Point" tickets at Circuit City. It can get confusing out there for some folks. I remember reading in the old tickets thread where people bought DVDs at Best Buy and were disappointed when the expected tickets were not inside (-ticket was packaged separately-). And be careful at Wal-Mart: their current ticket offer has smp's and non-smp's mixed in together in the same display.

I thought the -smp- marker might keep someone from making a mistake. However you may be correct: It might be better to simply indicate when the ticket is packaged separately -- or keep the -smp- markers and add "ticket packaged separately" where needed.

Anyone else want to weigh in?

Trevor

Not all of these deals have the DVD marked in some way.

I meant all the deals with the bonus inside the DVD are marked in some way.

I just think that most people have no idea what smp means unless they read your key, so it looks a bit strange to see it everywhere. It is not one of the universally recognized abbreviations.

I think it best to just always mention whether the ticket/freebie is inside the case or a separate package.

I've never really pushed this fact in the exclusive threads, but I hope that no one is buying unmarked DVDs assuming that the bonus will be inside.

In my years of tracking these things, I can say that there is almost a 100% chance that a DVD package with no mention of a bonus will not have a bonus. Always look for a sticker or something on the DVD, or the freebie in a separate package.

Just my thoughts, you're doing an awesome job by the way.

red5bv06 and Trevor: Thanks for the heads-up on the <FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: pink">"Mom's Day"</font> re-packagings movie tickets and concession cash at Wal-Mart. I've added entries into the table (post #1) based on the information in the weekly exclusive thread (Thanks Trevor!). Clearly my entries are not complete. Anyone who can help with additional details or titles will be appreciated.

By the way: Tremors Attack Pack? Riddick Trilogy? These are mother's day movies?

==========

Hey Trevor! You just said it perfectly concise and with absolute clarity!<B><I>There is almost a 100% chance that a DVD package with no mention of a bonus will not have a bonus. Always look for a sticker or something on the DVD, or the freebie in a separate package.</b></i>I like that! Here's a plan: I'll remove the -SMP- markers from the DVD offers. I'll leave them on the candy, grape juice and other grocery promotions where it is important to look for -smp-s. I'll indicate offers where we know the "freebie" is in a separate package. I'll put your disclaimer at the top and bottom of the table. (I'll probably reverse the sentence order.)<br>What do you think?

WOW!!! Lots of stuff going on at Wal-Mart. I went over to take a look at the Mother's Day special DVD offering (with an eye toward free movie tickets and concession cash). I found six (6) different rewards available. All of these have been added to the table (post #1) but I'll include the pricing that I saw in this post. Remember that these are specially packaged DVDs. The overall front cover is pink and clearly states "For Mom". There is a small triangular sticker in the top left corner of the cover. This sticker identifies the ticket to be found inside. You must get a specially marked box to assure that a ticket is inside.

Saw this in the K-mart add, but like several of the recent offerings, it is possibly at all chains.

Free Indiana Jones movie ticket ($7 max), prints at checkout, when you buy 4 Dr. Pepper 2 liters. There is Indiana Jones labeling on the bottles, which makes me think it might not be K-mart only.

Also, it is not descibed, but the picture of the cheez-it box in the k-mart ad shows something about an Indiana Jones movie ticket. That must be a Nabisco wide promotion.

I don't have a new update regarding more free movie tickets, but I have a question regarding the online movie tickets for Incredible Hulk, etc.. Are the certificates available from Hollywood Movie Money? And furthermore, are those working for you guys and the theater(s) have no problem processing them?

If they are from HMM, I participated in a Disney Movie Rewards program at the beginning of the year and received a free movie ticket (received an online code, printed it off Adobe Acrobat, etc.) from the company. I tried to use that to see "National Treasure 2", but the theaters said that the number used to access the payment for said admission had expired, but the certificate itself hadn't expired by the time I tried to use it.

I ended up sending the old certificate, the movie ticket (with the amount that I paid to see the movie), and a letter of explanation to HMM. In one to two weeks, I received a letter of apology from HMM along with a check refunding the amount I paid for the movie admission AND a free generic Hollywood Movie Money certificate good up to $12.50 off another movie admission.

So if those online movie tickets from HMM don't work, contact them on the address on their website and they will get back to you. Just make sure you send them the original print-out certificate, the ticket (with the amount paid on it), and a letter of explanation when you do so.

Paramount did the same thing for The Ruins, by making you print out the certificate. I used it no problem. The Universal tickets are "Hollywood Movie Money" tickets.

Amazon.com is listing "WITH FREE MOVIE TICKET" in the title for the Blu Ray pre-orders of THE MUMMY, THE MUMMY RETURNS, and THE SCORPION KING...

Once would deduce that the free ticket is for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

Saw that and since I was planning on picking up the Mummy and Returns on BD anyway-added bonus!

I think the online code idea is better. For 2 reasons, you don't have to worry about whether or not the ticket is inside the case. And it prevents dishonest scumbags from getting an extra ticket.

What is stopping a "Dishonest Scumbag" from printing out duplicates of the same ticket file? Does the theater have away to tell if a ticket (ticket ID number) has been used already?

I've only printed off one ticket from an on-line code. The ticket I printed had a 16-digit code number that had to be entered into the credit card system of the theater. My on-line ticket was essentially a one-time use credit card number that credited the funds to the theater's bank account like a normal Visa card. I suspect that if you tried to use the same ticket a second time, the credit card system would refuse the charge.

That's one way of ensuring a single use. The downside is that the ticket seller has to manually type in the 16 digits into the credit card system. Kind of slows down the line.

Well yeah. Once that barcode is scanned, it's de-activated. It's done. Think of the millions of concert tickets that are printed out and used. It's the same way.

Moreover, what's stopping dirtbags from just stealing the stickers off the front of the dvds in the store? Or worse, writing down the redemption codes off the back, but leaving the stickers there for some poor schmuck to take home only to find out it's now invalid?

At the BB i visited, the stickers were under a 2nd plastic wrapping covering the DVD. So it's not like the price tag that's on there. You would have to open up the DVD to peel off.

Oh, I forgot about these DVD releases:

An $8.50 Hollywood Movie Money certificate for X-Files: I Want to Believe is included in the 2-disc DVD compilation for X-Files: Revelations ($22.98 SRP). All retailers should be selling that set once it hits stores July 8, 2008.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray Limited Edition Gift Sets of Batman Begins will include a $7.50 Hollywood Movie Money ticket for The Dark Knight (they erroneously list it as "Movie Cash" when the certificate shown has the HMM stamp on it). Both sets will be released on July 8 as well in all retailers.

That particular offer from Best Buy is a Hollywood Movie Money certificate and they are good for even "no coupon, no pass" showings (it'll usually say that on the certificate). All HMM tickets to my knowledge allow you to use the certificates to go see the selected movie on opening day if you wish.

Without the 16 digit "credit card" code or the three digit security code, you will probably not be able to use these tickets at your local theater. In the last line in the box directly above your ticket is an 800 telephone number. You need to call that number with the web codes you used to generate the tickets. Explain what has happened. They will either send you new web codes, or send you PDF files with corrected tickets via e-mail.

While I don't know definitively, I think it will apply to all versions of MIB on Blu Ray. Reason I saw this was I was at Blockbuster on Saturday and saw this on the shelves for purchase early. It was $24.99 and I knew it would be $19.99 come Tuesday, but there was a big Hancock sticker on the front slipcover (which looked pretty nice, I might add) for the ecode ticket. So definitely Blockbuster and Circuit City will have it.

I was at Best Buy and the ones they had DID NOT have the E movie ticket sticker on the cover. I picked it up at Circuit City. Also note, the sticker has the code on the back and is attached to the slip case. It does not peal off very easily and leaves a bunch of residue.

You've already contacted customer support on this. My understanding is that they are sending you two tickets via snail-mail. In any event, we do NOT hand write any of the information on the tickets printed out from the various web-codes. The name you entered and a one-time use, unique charge card number is pre-printed on the ticket.

The problem you are having is either a configuration problem with your printer driver, a defective copy of the Adobe software, or a corrupted file from the ticket supplier. A quick and easy test would be to see if you are able to print any .PDF file. If you need further assistance configuring your system, I would seek an Adobe help forum or a help forum from your printer's manufacturer.

Best of luck.

I discovered today that both Kroger and Hershey are having a promotion for The Dark Knight when I went to Kroger today and went to check out. I think if you buy a select amount of Hershey products (I am not sure of the $ amount) using your Kroger Plus Rewards card, you get an print out with an electronic code entitling you to a free movie ticket through Fandango -- for any movie.[/B] (Go to www.fandango.com/hershey and enter in your code, etc.; full details are listed on the print slip.)

The promotion lasts until 9/30/2008 and although I am not sure of the amount, it at least covers the price of a matinee ticket plus the $1 "courtesy fee." It's also valid for advance tickets, as I used my code to obtain an advance matinee ticket for The Dark Knight.

I posted this in another thread, but it's worth repeating since it fits this category as well.

Albertsons is currently running a promotion where you buy 10 General Mills products for $20 and you get a coupon for 2 "The Dark Knight" tickets (redeemable online) valued at $25.50. As an added bonus, when you buy at least 3 General Mills products, you'll receive a coupon redeemable during your checkout for $1.50 off your total purchase.

The redemption site is located at www.generalmills.com/batmansweeps Code must be redeemed by 8/31/08. The link will take you to Fandango and you can choose your theatre and showtime, enter the code and print your free ticket for two.

Anyone having problems with the Walmart Love Guru promotion? I go to the website and it says it is expired, though the coupons says 7/20/08 in two places.

Also, can't get the Kmart Batman promotion to work.

I believe you can contact Hollywood Movie Money, say that the movie went out of theaters before the tickets expire, and you can send in those tickets in exchange for two generic HMM tickets. (Just make sure you send them before the expiration date on them.)

You can send them an e-mail through their official site, or by snail mail. (www.hollywoodmoviemoney.com/contact/index/Support)

There's a new ticket off for either "Righteous Kill" (with deNiro and Pacino) or "Traitor" avaiable through bestbuy.com.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?type=category&id=pcmcat157100050020

The link states that the offer is good with the purchase of "any action or drama" DVD, but it also seems to work with comedies (and may work with other genres, too--I just haven't checked). It works with this week's $3.99 specials, too, making it an especially good deal. You can order a DVD and pick it up in store and have the certificate shipped to you. Only one per order, but there's nothing to stop you from placing more than one order. I just ordered one $3.99 disc (LADY INTHE WATER) and placed another order for a $6.99 disc (I'M NOT THERE), selected store pick up for the discs (no shipping) and home delivery (no charge) on the certificates. So two DVDs with movie tickets for $11.

GCS,

That's odd! I completed 2 orders yesterday with $3.99 titles with free shipping. Yesterday, there was a box on the free movie ticket page that you could check to add the movie cash to your cart -- the box does not appear today. I wonder if they met the "while supplies last" already. (I tried putting "Sex and the City Complete Collection" into the cart to see if they just nullified the $3.99 titles, but even that expensive set doesn't bring it up.)

Today, eight days from the date I mailed it, I received a replacement ticket from HMM for my two hulk tickets. They only enclosed one, but based on the letter from the CSR, they meant to enclose two. So I'm writing them again. The replacement ticket is good until Oct 31st. Also, the replacement ticket is worth $12, as opposed to Hulk's $8.50 each. Thanks for your help!

Could you please explain this in a little more detail? I have some unused X-Files HMM tickets I couldn't use because I got them the day the movie stopped playing in theaters in my area. I thought when it said good until 8/31, that meant some theater would be playing it until then. The HMM acceptance guarantee says that you're supposed to pay out of pocket and then send for a reimbursement (too much trouble). Where does it say on their web site that you can send unused tickets back and get replacement tickets for any movie you choose (or they choose)? I hope if they do do this that the replacement ticket for something else will not expire on 8/31.

Just write them a letter explaining that your local theaters have dropped X-Files before the expiration date on your ticket (also include the non-expired ticket(s) with your letter), and they should send you a replacement $12.50 ticket good for any movie, which expires October 31st.

EDIT: It works, someone who got a "In the Name of the King" movie ticket sent that to HMM when the film was dropped out of theaters and in a week got a replacement ticket. You can contact them on their website before mailing your letter and unused ticket, but they should mail you a replacement in this case. It's not on the FAQ, but they do that.

True, the FAQ assumes that the movie is playing elsewhere but does not mention what you should do if the movie isn't playing anywhere.

Also, "Refunds/reimbursements MUST be postmarked within (1) week of the certificates expiration date in order for them to be honored. Please be advised that if you were turned away from the theater because your ticket was expired you will not be eligible for a refund." I'm assuming that means we need to wait another couple of days before sending ours in.

Regarding the Traitor/Righteous Kill movie tickets...

Online I see they require you to enter your home mailing address (there's no reason to ask for it when it says printer required... implying I will print my ticket... except to send junk mail or to try to restrict this to 1 per household based on name or address). Is the movie theater going to check my driver's license to match the info I type in for the ticket and deny me entry if it doesn't match? What happens if I don't want the employees at this overturemoviecash company or the movie theater to have my personal info? It looks like their site won't tell you if there are any nearby participating theaters until AFTER you've entered your personal info.

I'm tempted to put in a bogus name and mailing information. Has anyone made it all the way through to verify you can do that?

This isn't correct. I checked participating theaters without entering a code. There's a link at the bottom of the overturemoviecash page. Here's the direct link (http://overturemoviecash.com/locator)

I can't answer your other question regarding the entering of your address...I haven't entered any of my codes yet.

MrSmearkase
08-26-08, 09:59 PM
I just entered my codes, and have used similiar tickets in the past. I believe that the reason that they ask for your personal information is becuase this is essentially a credit card transaction, and they must be able to follow-up instances of fraud. Just print once and use once, is my advice.

Also, when presenting to the box office, they have not yet ever asked for my ID. They simply enter the code that is printed on the certificate as a credit card transaction, and then you are on your merry way.

One thing that I noticed in regards to this particular promotion - They prompt you to select which film you would like the certificate to be valid for. I liked how Universal made their movie checks this summer good for either Hulk, Wanted, Hellboy, or The Mummy. You didn't need to pick at that time. I'm probably just nit-picking, but I like the freedom to choose once I'm at the theatre.

Manzana

MrSmearkase and cardsfan111, thanks for the replies. I missed the text on the card with the special link to check theaters. Not only aren't AMC Theaters included, but no Harkins. That eliminates the majority of theaters in my area requiring me to go to the independent ones I've never heard of before.

I guess when it comes to entering my personal info I will <ahem> mistype it somewhat so that it's close in case they check but still different enough. I have several of these tickets and I only plan to use each code/ticket once. Having them collect this for fraud purposes is silly because anyone doing it fraudulently would not type in accurate personal info.

Has anyone yet successfully entered and printed tickets with different codes using the same personal info to make sure it doesn't limit you to 1 per household?

Using the same address, I've printed 4 for the Universal promotion, 4 for the Tropic Thunder promotion, and so far 3 for the Traitor/Righteous Kill promotion. (Although I'll probably pick up a few more, as they are available with any DVD purchase)

I often use them for other films than what it specifies, although you have to request the movie that the ticket is valid for once you reach the box office. Depending upon your local theatre, it then becomes easy to sneak into another film. That is what is so great about the $3.99 deal at Best Buy. For just $4, I can any other film that theatre is offering, at less than 50% off their normal ticket price.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll use the same slightly mistyped personal info for each of my tickets. I shouldn't have to worry because nobody has said that the theaters will compare the name on the ticket to one's ID to make sure it's a perfect match. Given that anyone can enter anything into the personal info fields for these tickets, it seems it's entirely worthless to request that info. It also says a valid email address is required, but they give you the PDF file right then and there.

It's kind of like someone posting a sign saying everyone must enter through Door A, and right next to Door A is Door B which is wide open. So if you're going to have 2 wide open doors then why post the sign?

I saw Traitor today and can tell you they don't care about the name printed out on the certificate. At my local theater, they were more concerned with how to ring up the certificate in their register (and the instructions print out on the form telling theaters what to do). They were confused today, I'll give them lots more practice in the next month or two. :)

Yeah, we wanted to go see Traitor, but it had left the local theaters (except one about 40 miles away with gas then over $4/gal), so we ended up going to see Appaloosa instead of Righteous Kill. Great movie, great audience...worth every penny!

Per the HollywoodMovieMoney website (which I would guess it is unlikely that your local theater visits regularly), there may be a problem with the expiration of the Blindness tickets. I suggest that if your Blindness ticket is unexpectedly not working at the theater with them entering in the 10/2008 expiration to ask them to try a 11/2008 expiration.

Also, $7 Nights in Rodanthe tickets inside some DVDs of The Notebook, expires Oct 12, tomorrow.

Not real impressed with the folks at overturemoviecash.com (they had the Righteous Kill/Traitor e-movie cash promotion). Their website listed their 800# in several places, indicating that if the movie wasn't playing at a theater near you to call them. Well, I still have a couple of Righteous Kill tickets printed out that I didn't get to use (basically because I saw everything I wanted to see. ;) ). The tickets say they expire October 17th, but Righteous Kill left my local theaters last Friday. So I called last Friday and can't get a live person on the phone, instead a voicemail that says leave a message and your call will be returned within 24 hours/next business day. No word by Tuesday so I call again...same thing with a message left. Still today, I haven't heard a thing. No big deal I suppose, but a little frustrating.

Watchmen Motion Comic DVD/BD also has $7.50 movie cash to see Watchmen. Target and BB both have this, so I assume it is everywhere...

Just to avoid any confusion...there is no removable sticker with movie code on the back of the DVDs with Watchmen Movie Cash offer. The ticket is inside the DVD case. I checked these at Best Buy yesterday.

True, but there is a sticker on the DVD so you know whether or not it includes the free Watchmen movie cash. I wouldn't buy any DVD that does not have the sticker, since i highly doubt it will have the movie cash...

^ Yep. If you don't see a sticker on the DVD packaging advertising the freebie as "inside", then it probably isn't in there. Maybe if the UPC is covered with a new sticker on the back, that could imply that the sticker on the front is missing and you have the new repackaged version with ticket, but I'd definitely pick one out that has sticker on the front.

Picked up extras of the two Matrix films for gifts. Hope to use the moviecash tonight.

Best Buy has a free Race to Witch Mountain movie ticket sticker attached to each of the 3 Pirates movies (Pirates 2 & 3 are the 1-disc versions). The Pirates films are $14.99 each, but currently part of a sale for 2 for $20.

No physical movie cash included, instead a sticker with an online code. Ticket value is up to $12, and expires 04/04/09.

^ Loved the two original Witch Mountain movies when I was a kid. I will definitely see this, but the trailer looks pretty stupid.

Best Buy also has free movie cash for "I Love You, Man" right now. There is an end cap with a bunch of releases stickered with the movie cash.

From what I recall, the movies were:

- Anchorman
- 48 Hours / Another 48 Hours (Double Feature)
- Wayne's World / Wayne's World 2 (Double Feature)
- School Of Rock / Orange County (Double Feature)
- Jackass
- Jackass 2
- Mean Girls

And there might have been more. They're all $9.99 each and the movie cash is worth up to $12.

I just found some movie cash for "Escape To Witch Mountain". Weirdly, it asked me which local theater I wanted to use it at. I've never had to enter this before. Also, surprising was seeing an AMC theater on the list. I din't think they accepted movie cash. I chose them and when my movie cash was printed, it had the Discover logo on it, instead of the usual Master Card. Was this because I chose AMC? Will they really take it at AMC?

Nothing else about it seems AMC-specific, so I could probably use it aty Pacific. I just don't want to waste a trip to AMC.

These are one time use credit cards, so therefore good at all chains.

My friend in Orange County has been using Movie Cash at her AMC for over a month now. She noticed they started showing up on the theater list when she checked online...

FYI, there are two different Escape to Witch Mountain movie cash, some for $8 (on select Disney DVD's such as Bridge to Terabithia, The Rocketeer and Rocketman) and some for $12 (on the original Witch Mountain movies, and according to a previous post, the POTC films)

Intersting. I'd still like to find out if the Discover moviecash cards are a result of choosing AMC as the theater option. They have always been Mastercard in the past.

I'm pretty sure it is a Discover card no matter what you choose. I chose a Regal theater for example.

I would imagine the theater choice is just for marketing research.

It could be related, but in a different way. Discover Card has lower merchant fees. Seeing as theaters do tons of Movie Cash business, it is possible that AMC didn't want to give up 2.5% to Mastercard (for example). But since Discover has lower fees, maybe that persuaded them to come back.

Are all the $5.99 titles have movie money in them ? And what is the amount of the movie money ? Also why BestBuy do not mention this anywhere on their adds ?

I was wrong.

The Watchmen movie cash printed out either as a (one time use) Mastercard or Discover Card, depending on which theater you selected (I imagine).

I redeemed two of them last night, and they were one of each card.

Best Buy has Bourne Identity for $5.99 this week, did that movie have the movie cash?

Also, is BB anal about the reward zone certs? Doesn't it say $10.00 minimum purchase, but what are the odds I could just buy the Bourne Identity with one certificate and $1.00 plus tax?

Hope so. I'll buy a couple copies for gifts, as I already own like 5 versions of that film.

Like everything at BB, YMMV. Worst case scenario, if you really don't have anything else to buy, is to get something else that you can return later.

I thought the minimum was just the value of the certificate. So if you have a $5 cert, $5 is the minimum. $10 cert requires $10+ etc...

You are correct, I printed my cert. today. I don't get them very often, it used to be a $10 minimum. Got Bourne Indentity for $1.06 with tax and one $5 cert. It had the $7.50 F&F movie ticket on it. The Supremacy's didn't have the stickers on them (probably older stock). I'm quite pleased as I've wanted this movie for a while but never that motivated to get it. Can't beat this deal. Thanks for the heads up.

I saw $5 off e-codes attached to the X-Men DVDs at Target; the $5 off admission was good for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the new Night at the Museum flick, and the new Ice Age flick. Expiry was the end of Sept, I believe, and you can redeem them now.

There's a preorder link (on Warner Home Video) for Batman Begins, with a free pass to see Terminator Salvation. I have no idea if it's e-cash or an actual certificate (nor how much it's worth), but the DVD will be available on May 11th for those interested.

I think it may just be the 2-disc edition with the certificate included, but I'm not sure.

In addition to the $5 X-Men, Night 2, and Ice Age 3 e-tickets found at Target, I noticed the same e-ticket attached to the X-Men Trilogy box set, with a value of $10. The box is currently selling for $19.99, and looks to be the single-disc versions of each film.
