It's pretty difficult finding 3 you want around the same price which have the "free DVD" icon!

CRAP!!! They also lowered all of the online discounts to 10%. I knew I should have placed a few orders yesterday. On the bright side, they are included in the sale. But I think I'd rather buy Torchwood by itself, since there aren't 2 other items in that price range that I want...

I've got a nice gift card to use, so this'll come in useful on some BBC comedies I've been looking to pick up, particularly 'Allo 'Allo series 7 and A Bit of Fry and Laurie.

Or less. There were a couple of items 15% off that I was thinking about getting along with a third that was 10% off.

The 15%-off items are now 0% off.

Yeah, I was looking at a title that was 30% off yesterday, 15% off this morning, and now it's full price. Oh well, even at 15% it wasn't that great of a deal I guess.

HD DVDs don't appear to be in this deal, at least the ones I've looked at. I realize their HD DVD prices suck, but I thought I might use a gift card. Too bad -- they need to recognize there are HD enthusiasts out there ready to drop some dough if they'd lower their prices.

Well, Lost S3, 24 S6, and Extras Gift Set are all still discounted. I believe that will be my order. $76 + tax for all three. It isn't fantastic, but it isn't too bad...

Yeah, I was looking at Extras as one of the titles. I still might do it if I can find an alternate 3rd title.

A few I noticed this morning of HD DVD and Blu-Rays included in the deal are:

Live Free or Die Hard
Close Encounters
Crank
3:10 to Yuma
Warriors (HD only strangely)
2001
Lost in Translation
Oldboy
Catch & Release
Children of Men
Superbad
War
Casino Royale
Transformers
Sunshine
Good Luck Chuck
Mr. Woodcock
The Bourne Ultimatum
Next
The Simpsons Movie
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Pride & Prejudice
Man on Fire
Saw IV
Hairspray
A Clockwork Orange
Ghost Rider
Flags of Our Fathers (HD only)
TMNT
Serenity
The Pursuit of Happyness
The Game Plan

Of course, subject to change at any time, I guess. With the B2G1 and a 25% code (which was working in conjunction this morning), maybe something halfway decent in some combo with boxsets or something. . .

I hate these sales because they raise the prices on all their items. Why don't they just do away with the sales and keep their dvd prices at a minimum of 20% off? I'd rather have that coupled with the coupons than these sales which are no bargain when most of the items I want are selling at MSRP and the Member discount offers little savings.

The closest thing for a good deal online for Hd-DVD was
Matrix Trilogy
Battlestar Galactica (season 1)
Heroes (season 1)

After the 25% off coupon for members and added tax for me
it was about $180 dollars. So $60 dollars a set, which currently beats other retailers by about $10+ a boxset.

I like how they raised prices on titles that aren't even included in the sale.

Picked up Extras Complete Series, Tudors Season 1 and Popeye Vol. 1 for $88.50 (w/ tax).

The same titles would cost $105.97 at Amazon and $108.06 at DD (the chepaest online prices according to DVD Price Search). So I'm happy with that deal.

Don't know what level they've raised them from, their prices are ALWAYS crappy, and the highest of any online store. Gotta pay for membership to get bigger savings and even then they're nowhere near all-accessible, everyday regular prices of DVDPacific, DD, and Amazon.
Never ever, in 9 years that I'm collecting DVDs, bought ANYTHING from them. Screw them!

I'm bummed The Tudors S1 was $25.19 member price this morning, and is now $35.99. Did not have time to figure out a 3-piece order this morning before leaving for work.

*edit*

OK, I edited my calculations out, because as Peep pointed out to me, I mistakenly applied the 25% to both paid titles instead of just one, which makes for a different picture.

Thanks, Peep!

robollama,

B&N is very poorly organized for HD Media.

They DO NOT list most of their Blu-Ray and HD-DVD under that specific tab. Look up the title you want by name, and pull up the regular DVD page. Then look where it says "other formats" and it will have a link to the Blu-Ray or HD-DVD.

Many HD media titles are NOT included in this sale -- I searched a lot today to find the ones in my post #14 above.
