Wal Mart Early Release?

has anyone noticed in the past few weeks that WalMart has been releasing some movies a week early? I noticed today that Rush Hour 3 vomited its way on to the Marts displays and racks, which to my knowledge s supposed to be out the 23'rd. And last week another Mart in a different town had Blade Runner 2 disc on sale before Tuesday. Is this the norm for them, or are the stock people morons in my section of the country?

Movie studios allowed retailers to release next week's movie early. Only thing worse than morons working at W-M is a moronic customer. :-)
Point made hopefully :-)

I've seen titles released as much as a month to 6 weeks ahead of time & show up on Walmart shelves. I remember one time, this was maybe a couple of years ago, Mash Season 9 showed up almost 2 months ahead of time. My husband bought it (they had a TON of copies at the time) & when he went back the next day for something else he noticed the entire shelf had been cleared. Kmart does this alot with books. I've gotten books at Kmart a week to 2 weeks ahead of their date to actually hit shelves "legally" speaking.

BTW, it's not usually the stock people that make those kinds of decisions. The manager, or the district manager, often makes the decision, or it can even come from much higher to all stores. Please don't assume that the stock people really have any say in what gets stocked when. They do what they're told pretty much.
