Late Night With Conan O'Brien - New Episodes?

I noticed that the NBC schedule had "all new" episodes of Conan this week.

http://www.nbc.com/Schedule/

I'm guessing this is just a default value, but I was wondering if I missed something. It also says SNL is "all new" on Saturday, which is unlikely, unless it's a compilation episode they are considering new.

No. It's not right. Still not happening since the strike is going.

Well, Carson Daly is going with new episodes sans writers, but he is not a WGA member. It would have been extremely unlikely since Conan is part of the WGA, but that's why I asked.

Actually, Conan is likely a WGA member since he's written episodes for The Simpsons and other shows.

How is he possibly a traitor? It's not his fight, and he saved the jobs of dozens of good people by going back. I don't think he's likely to undermine the strike by taking on work the few writers on his staff did, either.

He's not a traitor by any means. But his show is not good at all.

I say it's cool for all the fellow below the line workers to have a job during the holidays, but not having new episodes of Leno or Conan means that Carson doesn't even get those viewers who would accidentally tune in.

Hey -- it may be the best programming specifically produced to air at 1:35 A.M. Eastern time.

I never said/implied that Conan was necessarily a WGA member from his show (although he is one of the writers). Writing for SNL and The Simpsons were, in essence, his two previous jobs.

Conan, Dave , Jay, Jimmy Kimmel, and Craig Ferguson are all credited writers on their respective shows and, as such, are all members of the WGA.

Carson is not in the WGA at all to my knowledge. His show still sucks though.

I'm sure Conan/Leno/Letterman will return before the strike ends. What will you be saying then about them? Conan will be first, as he has the most to lose (Leno's job next year when he leaves). I imagine he will be forced back on and moved up to Leno's hour until Leno comes back.

I'm not sure whether or not Conan will be the first back or if it will be Kimmel. It looks as though Letterman and Ferguson will be the last back, though.

Leno seems like the sort of kissass who would come back just to suck up to the network in the hopes they won't make him retire, now that I think of it. Maybe he'll be first.

Exactly. It's already been said, but i'll agree - he sucks. However, like JJ said, he did a good thing by saving the jobs of his employees.

Heck, if his show was that bad with writers, maybe it'll be better now that there aren't any?
