Are there any itrips that are compatible with the Shuffle?
Hello, Hoping some one on here could help me out.
I'm looking for a present for my mom for Christmas and wanted to get her an itrip so she could get more use out of her ipod. Problem is she only has a shuffle, 2nd or 3rd generation. Are there any itrips or similar products that will work with that model ipod. I did some searching around but haven't come across anything yet.
Thank you!

It has to draw power from the wired remote port. Does the Shuffle have that?
Wikipedia's page on the Shuffle mentions that there are FM transmitters available for it, but doesn't list any brands.
Edit: oh wait, here's one that works with anything with a headphone jack: http://www.griffintechnology.com/pro...ouniversalplus

Another option... spend $20 on a Sandisk Sansa M240 from buy.com, $8 on a silicone case, and $6.50 on new headphones. Uses AAA batteries and has a built-in FM transmitter.
I have the M230 (512 MB) and I use it on a daily basis, great unit.
Link to the M240 at buy.com
Link to the pink silicone case from amazon.com
Link to $6.34 Phillips headphones at amazon.com
Buy something else, or buy better headphones, to get the total to over $25 so you get free shipping from Amazon.

Ah... I see - he wants his mom to be able to listen to the shuffle in the car.
This may be a stretch, but how about a new head unit for the car instead? There are some real nice head units under $150, kit and harness included. The one I have has a USB port in front - I just load a normal flash drive with music, plug it in and I'm good to go. For $170 you can get nice head units with iPod adapters (Sony GT610Ui or Alpine CDA 9883), but those adapters won't work with iPod shuffles.
Or spend $50 on the iTrip auto universal.
