Greetings all - I need sone info on buying quality DVDs

Sorry for jumping in with what everyone’ll probably think is a stupid question - but I’ve read a lot of stuff about bootlegs and still can’t find an answer toe simple question:

Can you buy a legit, quality, officially sanctioned, DVD that comes on an unmarked disc? I’m under the impression that if the dvd disc is unmarked, that it’s not.

Now I just bought a bunch of DVDs from Amazon and half of them contain completely unmarked discs, a couple with no inserts. The movies I bought range from 1969 chestnuts to 2005 eye candy. There’s no pattern as to which are unmarked, or what has no inserts and I’m really annoyed. These were NOT bought as used.

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks

The closest thing I could think of would be a double sided DVD with the writing on the spine of the disc. But I'd think you would notice that, if there's no markings at all, I'd vote bootleg.

The disc for Borat is close to a blank disc, but pretty funny.

First ask a mod to move this to the DVD area, which is where a question about DVDs belongs. Then maybe tell us the titles of a couple of discs in question and we can tell you what kind of markings the discs should have. If they're dual-sided discs, they won't have any artwork. There may be some fine print on the inner hub (not the spine) of the disc.

the only legit, new DVD that i've bought that was truly blank in terms of markings was the canadian alliance version of Trainspotting.
