Tonight had one of the best rewards for winning the reward challenge in the history of the show, and the best tribal council of the season (well, perhaps second to Jean-Robert's elimination).

I don't know if it was ever said whether the rule for playing a HII was the same as it was last season (playable up to and including the final 5 tribal council; in Panama and Cook Islands it was playable up to and including the final 4 TC), but if it is, I guess the thinking behind James's decision not to play one of the HIIs is that since they are still playable through the final 5 TC, by leaving them unused at one more Tribal Council he could play them back-to-back and be guaranteed a spot in the final four (where the final immunity challenge would be endurance).

Right now I think Amanda deserves to win this season with Todd a very close second. I wouldn't mind seeing Erik win.

Amanda's eyewink to PG was hilarious.

James failed at game theory...big time. Let's review: James doesn't have immunity, but has 2 HIIs. Eric is safe. With only PG as the nominal target, what's the in the best interests of others without HIIs? Vote out James because he's got 2 big shortcuts to make it to the final 5, plus pulling out an immunity win makes his trip to the final 4 a sure thing. James simply got out played by the rest of his 'tribe'. Amanda definitely is pulling the right strings at the right time. She's been the most level-headed of the group so far. But it's looking like Courtney might just snake her way through to the final four, just like Jean-Robert said she would.

Big mistake by James. He rolled the dice too many times and it finally caught up to him. Good move by the other members on his alliance, but with Denise as a swing vote it may have come too late. I think Denise will stick with the alliance that is now 4 and vote out PG (who has more lives than a cat) or Erik next week. It'll end up biting her in the ass as she'll be first to go after PG and Erik.

They've both played a near perfect game so far. If its them in the final two the smart money would be on Amanda to win it. She's been strategic without being downright manipulative. Unlike Todd who has been more vocal about his strategy which may have turned off some jury members. We already know JR isn't voting for Todd in the end.

Anyone catch PG's line while they were strategizing on the plane? I'll paraphrase:

"Its 3 of us here and that gives us a good shot because we can get James to vote with us" In what world is this girl living in?

I love James but he's an idiot. Amanda is playing a great game. She or Todd deserve to win it. Erik and Courtney haven't done shit to deserve it. PG is just a bitch so she don't deserve it either. I am fine with Denise winning it too simply because she's the underdog.

I bet it would have been a re-vote between Todd and PG. They only do the fire if they have to break a tie. With seven voters and only 2 possible choices there couldn't be a second tie.

Damn, sorry to see James go, but after that talk at the tribal council he should have definitely played his idol. He has a very good chance at winning immunity in a strength based challenge, so there wasn't much point to playing them. Ah well.

I think Amanda is about to start making big moves. I wish CBS would make one of their own and stop blurring out her daisy dukes. Fuckers.

Now that James outed himself, I want the hardest-working gal there to win -- PG. Nobody likes here and she's in an alliance of one ... but still stays in the game. You gotta love that!

That was truly one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. There are six people left and he had two immunity idols. At worst he could have given himself a 1 in 4 chance of winning one million dollars. And yet he didn't use the idol, and now never will.

I liked James--I did--but MAN was that staggeringly stupid.
