Wow Two Disc 1408 for 8.99? That has got to be a mis-price.

Nope, that's what the stuff we got said as well.

PS: we were directed NOT to accept the sale for NEW members (ie, signing up at the time of purchase on wednesday) and to REQUIRE the coupon...so, fwiw.

i havent been keeping up on the latest pricing, $8.99 looks like a pretty good deal on some of those 2 discers, departed, children of men, and the grindhouse flicks. Anyone seen better deals on those?

The $19.99 box sets should be compared with Amazon and Best Buy. Also, factor in travel time, gas, etc., rather than just ordering online.

'Children of Men' is $7.99 at Amazon.com - good deal if you're an Amazon Prime member or have other things to order to get free shipping.

in for volver, iron giant, and v for vendetta (since most borders still have the slipcovers as opposed to wal-mart/bb).

might get 40 year-old virgin and/or knocked up if the 2-discs are priced at 8.99. i know the pics shown are the single discs, but there have been instances where all versions are priced for the sale. we'll see...

8.99 doesn't seem like the best price for iron giant, since some people have said they've seen it for $4 at big lots, but i've yet to be that lucky. should i bite at this price or has anyone seen it lower?

Is this in-store only or will it be on the website? No Borders near me.

None near me either, just lots of Waldenbooks (where I signed up for a Borders Rewards card) but according to the coupon, Waldenbooks and Borders Express don't have the sale CDs and DVDs in this sale..

The Departed SE seems to be on sale for less than $9 everywhere (along with Blood Diamond SE, V for Vendetta and some other Warner titles--in another thread someone with access to wholesale prices confirmed this is a Warner supply-side sale). I don't know if the Buy.com sale is still on, but they had a better price on Ben-Hur and The Departed. I ordered all the DVDs I've mentioned, got free shipping, and got my DVDs in three days (since I live near their CA shipping facility).

I'm thinking about Away From Her. Julie Christie is being seen as a strong best actress nomination possibility.
It's $19-$20 everywhere else (tho currently DD has their 20% sale of course)

Just went to Borders and picked up Charlotte's Web and the 2-disc sets of Pan's Labyrinth and Knocked Up for $8.99 each. Pretty good deal.

I had no idea even though I get the Borders Rewards email.
I'm definitely going to buy Pan's Labyrinth, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Gone with the Wind.
