I don't have a PS3 so I've just did some googling..
Does the guitar have the PS button in order for you to pair it?
When using the controller for the first time or when using with a different PS3™ system, you must first pair the devices. If you turn on the system and connect the controller using a USB cable, the pairing will be completed automatically.
Each time you turn on the system, a number must be assigned to the controller. The user can connect up to 7 controllers at one time. The controller number is shown by the number above the port indicators. For numbers 5-7 add the numbers of the lit indicators

I'm trying to help you but I don't own a PS3 so it's kinda hard..
Questions:
1. Did you read the manual / directions to see how to pair it with your PS3?
2. Do you have the USB Guitar dongle plugged in?
3. Is there a "PS" button on the Guitar.

See where that cord is plugged into on that second picture? There is a usb port there. Plug in the guitar. Hit the ps button a couple times or shut it off and turn it back on.

tbird thank you i was on the phone with red octane got it hooked up had to move the guitar to several different positioins i will post the email here thank you guys very kind and considerate
