I keep hearing the universal praise this film seems to be getting. I will check it out eventually.

I think the movie looks intriguing, but I thought the trailer wasn't all that great... now the trailer for 'No Country For Old Men', that's how you do a trailer.

^^ I totally agree, NCFM is the best trailer I've seen this year. Can't wait till next week.

I completely agree with this.

And... great trailer for No Country... so good in fact every time I see it I get pissed off because I just want to see that movie already!

I was also really fond of the trailers for There Will Be Blood... but again, I am just so pumped to see that movie.

If the unedited "trailer/footage" for John Rambo counts though... that would have my vote. I hope Stallone just makes a new career for himself reprising his past roles... I am looking your way Over the Top 2: Way Over the Top.

Vague thread title

The movie looks interesting, but it's not the best trailer of the year. I'm not sure which is, but the NCFM, Darjeeling, and Transformers trailers were all better.

WTF was that?!

It looked like something you'd see on Adult Swim.

That looked like shit. Trailer of the year? I couldn't even get through the damn thing. Everyone knows the trailer of the year is Thanksgiving.

As someone pointed out on AICN, whose genius idea was it to do white subtitles on a black and white film? Other than that, looks good, but yes, my nomination for best trailer of the year is still "No Country For Old Men".

Movie looks interesting but it is not the trailer of the year, in my opinion that goes to 300 but the trailer was released in 2006 but the movie in 2007 so I don't know if it qualifies.

The best trailer Ive seen this year has been for Iron Man... I had absolutely no interest at all in that until the trailer which now has me excited, which probably means the movie will suck.

For those who hate vague thread titles:

Its the trailer for Persepolis. A black and white animated film with saturday morning quality animation.

From imdb: Poignant coming-of-age story of a precocious and outspoken young Iranian girl that begins during the Islamic Revolution.

Hell yes.

The runner-ups go to Machete and Don't.

Going back on topic, I really do want to see Persepolis based on all the reviews.

Transformers, Live Free or Die Hard, John Rambo footage, and the new Jackie chan/Jet Li movie footage. Those are trailers that made me want to see the movie.

Technically it was a teaser, but I'm gonna say "Cloverfield".

Cloverfield, hands down. In fact, I'd go as far as calling it one of the best trailers I've ever seen, in terms of how interested/curious it got me about the film. It did it's job, that's for sure.

Nothing beats the second full trailer for '300'.

I was watching the first full trailer for Jesse James over and over again. That would be my pick. Some of the other ones mentioned on here are really good too.

For me it's easily ACROSS THE UNIVERSE. I watched that trailer over and over again. I won't count the fake Grindhouse trailers as they're not real movies, though the best of them was DON'T, IMO. It was the funniest. Even if I did count them though none of them would be my favorite of the year. It still goes to ATU. That trailer blew me away.
