I think it's time to give Big Bang Theory its own weekly thread. The one we've been using titled "Worst Sitcom Ever?" isn't even close to being accurate. BBT is shaping up to be one of the biggest surprises of the season and this week was very funny. I'm really loving this show.

When I first heard of the show, I believed I would hate it.
When I watched a few random clips online, I wound up hating it.
As I watched the first episode... didn't hate it.
Now, this show has risen above it's failings, and become a truly good show. This, along with HIMYM, make for one of the funniest hours of television around.

I was completely wrong about this show. I thought the pilot was crap, but I stuck with it, and it's been far better than I thought it ever could be even before I saw the pilot.

This show has been the most pleasant surprise of the year for me. I like how they haven't made all of the episodes revolve around Penny and Leonard. I was afraid the show would get old very quickly if that storyline was too dominant.

Yeah. After hearing the premise (and stupid theme song the first week), I figured this to be short-lived.
Now I'm hoping it makes it because I'm enjoying the show more each week.

I never understood the hate for this show. It isn't groundbreaking entertainment, but I have found it to be quite watchable. I thought this was one of the best episodes so far. I'm glad they aren't force feeding us the Penny-Leonard relationship episodes too.

This show reminds me of the King of Queens; not groundbreaking, cutting edge, comedy but a solid little 20 minutes of entertainment that’ll make you laugh and doesn’t disappoint. Actually, the King of Queens is a really solid sitcom and I’ve bought all the DVDs, I’m just using that show as an example of what I think The Big Bang Theory is like. It’s no NBC Comedy, but it’s good.
Definitely a new season surprise that no one expect to be any good. Hope it weathers the WGA strike and stays on for more than this season.
Did anyone notice that Rajesh’s father was Mr. “Bad, Bad Man!” (Brian George) from Seinfeld, I thought that was pretty good.
Funny episode and I liked Sheldon asking for a Diet Coke.

I totally agree with you on the show though.

I hate that advance word of mouth has so much power over new shows. A show needs to have three episodes on the air at least before it can be judged, IMO.
