Lumines PSP ... Is it really that rare/good?
I am looking to pick up a copy of Lumines for the PSP and was wondering about a few things:
- Other than it being used for downgrading the firmware (which I don't plan on doing) is it worth owning?
- What's the song list like? The sequel looks to have a good deal of North American pop songs, which is one thing I find to be a negative.
- Is the game really that rare, and what do you guys think is a fair price to pay for a sealed copy?
Thanks in advance.

I really liked the first one. I didn't think the music was bad. If you enjoy puzzle games definitely try it. I haven't played the 2nd one yet.

What's the lowest price you guys have seen it go for in stores? I'm looking to buy mine for $30 and wondering if it's a good deal at that price.

Really not that much difference between the 1st and 2nd.
I always play on mute. I think the music is like techno

The 2nd one is available for I think around 10 bucks at TRU, in the bargain bin, and maybe other places too (Best Buy has some clearanced PSP games in the front as well, but I can't remember if L2 is one of them). I had no idea the first one was all that rare, but if so it's probably because of the firmware thing, and if you have no need for that just get the second one...

I still quite like the music of L2, but I suspect I would have liked the music of 1 better. Also, I think the background music videos in L2 were a poor idea because they can be quite distracting at times.

I got the 1st one on sale for $9.99 at CC. It is a good game, and definitely worth owning for that price, if you have a PSP. I really only played it with the music turned down, as I'm not into techno. I also don't think it is very rare.

To be honest, I don't think I'd bother to play it without the music. The way the sound effects dynamically mix with all the different music is really well done and I suspect is meant to be the main draw of the game. If the thought of that doesn't appeal to you I'd pick up a different puzzler.
