so I don't think it is because of the writers strike. Now the question is, have these 4 episodes already been filmed and if so, will Fox actually show them starting next January?

Tonight was not the originally planned fall finale. From the spoilers I've read, it doesn't even make much sense as a fall finale.

These episodes were originally supposed to be part of the "fall season," so I imagine they are completed (or at the very least written). The fall finale was supposed to be 12/17, with new episodes returning April-June. Now, those few episodes in Jan./Feb. will likely be the end of the season.

This is a last second attempt by FOX to stretch out this season. Plus, I think FOX wants to use this as a lead-in for The Sarah Connor Chronicles for it's last 5 episodes.

Yeah, wow, that fall finale stuff caught me completely by surprise. I figured they'd air through November (it IS still a sweeps month, no?), but apparently the strike has, well, struck again?

Well, at least it made a little bit of sense as a fall finale. Should be interesting how things play out from here - does Schofield go to a new prison? What about Lechero, T-Bag, Mahone, and of course Whistler? It seems Lincoln and company could hide a bit now, as I don't think anybody knows exactly where they are at?

That might be a spoiler, since its kind of unclear at the end since it seems like Michael is being taken away somewhere else.

A little dissapointed that this was the episode leading into the break. We're always taunted with something big and a lot of suspense only the payoff never seems that big. I mean, they had a huge set piece with helicopters, gun fights, and a near escape, only nothing really happens as a result. I'll be pissed if Mahone just ends up back in Sona again too.

I agree that this was not much of a finale. I would have expected them to at least get out and end with them running away.

Those guards sure do take their jobs seriously. I sure as hell wouldn't go up against 2 helicopters with rockets and machine guns - let them rescue the prisoner...

I mean, these are the same guards who let the prisoners rot inside because they don't want to risk their lives in another riot, but they are willing to take time and $ to re-weld every window with new bars and get into a fire fight outside the prison.

I'm really disappointed with this season so far. none of the types of characters are as interesting as the first two seasons, or they really don't seem to serve any purpose, i.e. Whistler's girlfriend. LJ's barely in it, which is weird considering he's a hostage. And not enough conspiracy stuff, which really helped the show's flow and my interest level. I'd really be surprised if there's another season.

Lame "fall finale" (love that new term). Glad to see Lincoln step up, but that was about it. This season had such potential but it never really grabbed me, and now we have to wait until mid-January 2008 (at the soonest)? I wish at least something major would've happened, but as it stands now I'm unfortunately just not that interested...

Ah well. Complaints aside, I'm still enjoying this overall. I just wish more would happen!
