Better place to sell? Half or amazon?

Just wondering what you think is better/more people buy used stuff from, half.com or amazon.com? I have always only used half before, never amazon to sell stuff, and I want to speed up the process of getting rid of some dvds, so I'm thinking of using both.

I was going to say Amazon but yeah using both sites would really give you a better chance at selling your items

You have significantly more competition on Amazon.

I can always get stuff sold on Amazon within 24 hours. Just price it at a few cents below the best price, and it goes instantly, it seems.

You need to price more than a few cents below. There are tons of people using computer repricers on amazon and tons of competiton which really takes the joy out of selling there.

I never need to price more than a few.

Hell, I just sold Heroes S1 by pricing it 20 cents below the lowest, and it was up for 10 minutes.

I guess it is more true for top 100 sellers. Most of the stuff I sell doesnt sell at the rate of Heroes.

The best bet is to look at your item and get an idea of how much it is going for on half, ebay, or amazon. Sometimes I have gotten as much as 20 dollars more by putting it at the right place.

You need to unload your p0rn collection at dvdempire, dude. Amazon.com isn't going to allow you to list all those.

Doesn't Amazon take a bigger bite on their commission?

Amazon's marketplace takes a whopping (almost) 20% commission of the sold price AND a cut of the shipping costs they charged the customer. That latter fact doesn't seem right, or fair, but I've confirmed it on numerous occasions with customers. When I asked them why they did it, they said it was a processing fee. And I thought, what about that bleeping 20% commission?!?
