Great news that it is renewed but It worries me that they will be doing 22 episodes. 13 epsiodes a season tends to work really well for this show. Also they'll no doubt split the DVD up into 2 sets to get the most money they can from us.
But overall Im extremely happy its renewed at all so thank you FX.

Hopefully it has a creative resurgence because last season was pretty bad.

I have hope though, since Nip/Tuck had a pretty lame 4th season and now seems to be on the rebound with Season 5. Maybe Rescue Me can do the same.

I agree, last season was atrocious, but it was one of my favorite shows for it's first 3 seasons, so I hope it makes a come-back.

Yeah, last season would be the ONLY reason why they would even have to think about renewing the show.

It was STELLAR before that. (Though I thought it got a little better closer to the end of the season. But it was rough.)

Love the show and I hope it comes back strong.

I was a bit concerned when I heard it hadn't been picked up for S5 yet, after how bad S4 was and how much of a loon Leary is.

I hope they regain direction with a solid season.

This is not good news at all. Considering that Leary has stated that they were very happy with the 4th season, the potential for 22 more episodes of that is pretty daunting.

Now if the season ends up being like seasons 1 - 3 then hell yes.

If the strike drags out into the spring, they may not even get a chance to shoot season 5.
