Kitchen Nightmares--"Old Stone Mill"--10/17/07

When the hell is Gordon going to get out of the East Coast? Especially New York?

Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Chef Gordon Ramsay takes a trip to Tuckahoe, NY, to help turn around The Olde Stone Mill, where restaurant owner Dean and his wife have poured their lives into renovating, but the service and food are horrible. Chef Ramsay and the owner clash when it comes to making changes in the "Olde Stone Mill."
Cast: Head Chef Gordon Ramsay

BTW, 2 pieces of news to pass off:

Next week 10/31 FOX is repeating the Dillons episode.

Also good news if your a fan of this show, FOX renewed Kitchen Nightmares for 10 more episodes next year.

Good episode, although disappointed that the "PLEASE HELP ME" cry from the manager, which had been paraded around all the previews for this show, ended up being used towards the chef, and not Ramsay.

Similar to how that "fight" with the "bill collector" was edited for previews to make it look like the guy was pissed at Ramsay.

It looks like he'll be at a Hollywood pizzeria next.

I assume these people ask for Ramsay's help? The owner seemed like a real asshole when Ramsay was just trying to help.

Good episode. I think the owner can run a good place that is already good, but he is not the guy you want to start something up.

Better episode compared to the previous ones; I liked the interplay between Ramsay and the owner. They still need to tone down the music, both in amount and the quality; we don't need to hear fucking orchestra stings every time someone says something "shocking" and we definitely don't need it to underscore every single time Ramsay gets in someone's face.

I like how this one focused more on the business side of the resturant business.

Creamed corn at a steak house ?? I've been to some of the best Steak Houses in the country and none of them had creamed corn... creamed spinich YES, but corn no.

Pretty good episode; I saw the “2 devil eyes” during the show again.

This episode wasn’t as good as the first three episodes but it was much better than the previous one (“Seascape”). Dean’s wife wasn’t bad looking for her age. The Chef wasn’t a pretentious prick like the one last week & I don’t think Ramsay yelled at him once. That must be a history breaking record for Gordon. I can’t believe Dead didn’t even have a sign up to tell people driving by it’s a restaurant.

Anyways, good episode & I’m very pleased it’s been renewed for 10 more episodes next season. We have five more episodes left this season still as well!

Not a bad episode, but not great either. I'm glad they're moving to CA next week since I'm getting tired of seeing guido's with run down restaurants in NY that all look/act the same. Plus there's always the fear one will snap and pummel Ramsay. Everyone in CA are such pussies he should be slinging insults like he's dying of cancer tomorrow.

Glad it got picked up again.

I can see where Dean was coming from as far as him being a pussy and afraid of change. But good for Gordon for kicking his ass.

It was nice to see Gordon checking out the town and seeing what it was in need of, instead of just going in and saying 'fix this, fix that, etc...'. It showed that there was more method behind his madness.

I read up on the red dot thing. Great way to tweak people out. Good marketing campaign though.

What's with the inconsistency on revisiting the businesses? Half the time gordon goes back, half the time they try and pass off the relaunch as track record of "post fix". In the original Gordon always goes back - even if it's only a few weeks later. Disappointing if you ask me.

Bump as a reminder that this episode is on tonight. I suppose that Fox will show last season's episodes throughout the Summer to build up interest for the new season this Fall. Always glad to have Gordon on my viewing schedule.

I saw this on my guide after the fact and was convinced that I had missed the season opener. Happy that it was a rerun.

If you happened to have BBCA (BBC America) channel, you can see his UK version of Kitchen Nightmare on Thursdays. UK version is hell better than US version.

Last night was my first time to see US version of Kitchen Nightmare, it's kinda cheesy and meh.
