How good of a deal is this 360 bundle?
They have it at Fry's
XBOX 360 Bundle w/5 Games (Includes HDMI Output)
FRYS.com #: 5413009
Bundle Includes:
XBOX 360 Pro Console W/HDMI Output
Marvel Ultimate (comes with the hardware)
Forza (comes with the hardware)
Half-Life 2 Orange Box
Two worlds
BioShock
$399 plus a few buck shipping.
Are the hdmi out 360s new enough that they don't get the RROD?
I don't play hardly at all, and this looks like a smoking deal.

You're basically getting Bioshock, Orange Box, and Two Worlds for $50. That's the deal because MUA and Forza are bundled in retail now (or soon). BS and OB are good deals. TW got piss-poor reviews, maybe only BS and OB for $50.
The new HDMI model is just the Elite that came out back in April(?). It doesn't RROD as often (no scientific evidence), but it isn't immune.

i just got my order confirmation... i really want the Halo edition X360 though... Perhaps, i'm gonna sell the X360 with Forza and MUA for $350 and buy the Halo X360 for $400. I know, where's the logic in that?
Well, the new X360 Pro bundle comes with two games, but it's still the Zephyr chip...
The Halo X360 is using the Falcon chip, which is the one i prefer. Obviously, i'm willing to pay $50 more for the chip than having Forza and MUA.
Sigh, and i though the PS3 SKUs are complicated...

I got mines yesterday, but didn't open it yet, because of post#11.
Anyhow, i just realized that i don't need to that anymore (i.e. trade in for the Halo X360), because this bundle has the Falcon chip! Sweet... not that it's RRoD resistant, but it's something i want.
I still hate the fact that M$ didn't include a wireless network in the console like the PS3 and the Wii, suck balls!
Because of that, i'll need to rearrange my wireless network a bit... No fucking way i'm paying another $100 to have the X360 go on-line.
So, i'm gonna be busy this weekend

What is the build date of your 360? I recently purchased an Elite to replace my Core. The build date was late July 2007. I dont think it has the new chipset in it, but it would be nice if it did.

The Halo 360 is Aug, 2007, which has the the Falcon chip (according to a friend).
The FRY bundle deal is dated Sept 8, 2007 (at least in my case) and it says Team FDOU (i hope is not you got fucked ). I did some search and it seems that the FRY X360 has the new chip. However, there are mixed posts all over the net, it's hard to tell...
