I'm holding a copy of it in my hands. Looking on Amazon it appears to be out of print. Amazon Marketplace sellers have it priced at about $40 and up.

If you are regionless amazon.uk has it for about £4 (should be around $8 but I haven't looked at exchange rates recently).

DOH! looks like it's full screen only though

DVDEmpire lists it as discontinued by studio as well.

I have the dvd as well.

Was this the last watchable Steve Martin film?

Any potential for a Criterion release? I'll buy anything Mamet.

It's been playing recently on HDnet, so I have hope for a DVD re-release.

On a related note, I've noticed several Sony Pictures Classic movies go out of print recently. Young Adam is one. Not sure if Sony has lost distro rights or what.

I'd say at Novocaine is watchable.

I had no idea. I bought it for five dollars at an EB Games a few months ago. Awesome!

I'd love to see this one get a SE treatment. A criterion may be too much to ask, but would be welcome.

I own it, but had no idea it was out print. I swore I saw it in the $5 bin at Wal-mart 2-3 years ago.

Criterion did say that they had more Mamet coming up. Many speculated it was either this or the never been released Homicide. Or who knows? Maybe both.

God, I hope so. Homicide is so underrated and I do not own The Spanish Prisoner.
