Hollywood sucks, keep on remaking and ruining classic films because you are all out of ideas, pathetic

Wait, "The Karate Kid" is a classic film?

Granted, the movie did give us "Wax on, wax off" and "Sweep the leg" but it's hardly a masterpiece of cinema and doesn't really deserve to be held as sacred in any way.

Just about every "80's kid" considers it (including myself), what I like to call, a "popcorn classic". It's no Citizen Kane, but it's a classic within it's on genre I'd say.

It's yet another film I hate seeing be remade, especially if it's actually a remake and not just a crappy straight to DVD cash-in.

Maybe it wont be a remake and instead they'll get Ralph Macchio to portray Daniel Larusso to be the new kid's mentor.

So Macchio was 22/23 playing a 15/16 year old. What is a 9/10 year old going to play?

Remake aside, is there even a story to tell about a kid that young? Is the problem going to stem from "Daniel" wanting to use the bathroom that "Johnny and the Cobra Kai" have claimed in the 6th grade center? Is he going to get a vintage Schwinn bike for his 12th birthday?

Knock this shit off, Hollywood.

There must be one guy running around hollywood pitching all of these remakes the same way:

"It's a remake of [insert 80's movie here], but here's the catch...it's got a black cast this time!

Is Berry Gordy going to produce? I want to see Daniel, oh, wait, it'll probably be Danyal or something else that sounds like Daniel but has to be spelled differently, trained by Sho'nuff and square off against a comeback Gary Coleman.

If they replaced Mr. Miyagi with Sho'nuff I'd consider renting it. I'd imagine instead of sanding a deck he'd have Daniel polish his converse.

When will idiots quit defending these remakes and realize that the chance that they'll be crap is FAR more likely than they'll be worthwhile? And when will Hollywood wise up?

All they have to do is throw in a talking dog and they will be guaranteed at least 3 more sequels to this lame-ass remake.

He's already in one of our films "21".

They should have Steve James or Jim Kelly play the part..

Doesn't Will have an older son who was doing red carpet interviews for Entertainment Tonight or MTV or somewhere? Maybe he's the next "Kid".

As an aside, I was watching a UFC fight recently and during a quiet moment in the fight commentary some one yelled "Get him a body bag!" Perfectly timed and hilarious.

Four movies weren't enough?

Weren't the last two scraping the bottom of the barrel anyway?
