The One and Only Rufus Wainwright Discussion Thread
Heres the thing - this mans a genius any way you cut it. His is the only 'out there' male performer that I am fond of, and despite his unusual voice I have to say the entire album "Poses" is a definitive masterpiece. He is beyond good on that one.
Any fans of his here? He recently played - two days ago actually - the Judy Garland Show redone song for song. Apparently it was a massive success. Not normally a fan of this genre of music but may want to give it a try when it releases on DVD.
I would highly recommend "Poses" as well his 2007 album "Release the Stars" - very lush and operatic music - solid, great stuff.

IMO, Release the Stars is by far his weakest album to date. Even Want One and Want Two were better albums.
...that said, though, his music is still better than a lot of what you find on commercial radio.
