Borders Rewards Coupon: 40% off CDs - Valid 9/24/07 and 9/25/07

This could be a pretty good deal on some rare albums even priced at MSRP.

Borders Rewards
2 Days Only!
40% off the list price of any single disc CD (3 per customer)
Valid 9/24/07 through 9/25/07

Coupon

Maybe this should be in Hot Deals but I figured some MusicTalk regulars might not venture in there.

They just sent me one for any single-disc cd for $9.99. If they're selling any albums with a regular price of over $16.65, it'd be the better deal.

Different Coupon

Best coupons yet. I wonder why they are kicking out so many good coupons lately?

Lack of business?

Fucking Borders. I go in to buy a cd which is listed is "available" at 3 stores in my area when checking the store inventory on their POS site. I get to one of the stores and can't find it on the shelves, so I ask the employee to help me find it. He checks the store's computer inventory himself and says they have it. We can't find it and he can't find it in the back, so he checks the 2 other stores that are supposed to have it in stock, and neither of them have it on the shelves either. Ridiculous. At least I got a $5 off coupon with no restrictions.

If it is in the same packaging as a single disc, you may be able to pass it off. I remember a few years ago they had a similar coupon but the amount was 50% off. I bought quite a few of the Elvis Costello 2-disc sets. They came in the same type of packaging and were similar in price to single discs.

Worked for me today on a slim jewel case 2-disc. Cashier looked confused and had to apply the discount manually but I pushed it through.

They asked me if I wanted to be one when I was in the store. I think I just had to give them my name and email address and they gave me a card.

and unlike the tacky Barnes and Noble - you don't have topay $25 bucks each year.
(although B&N has a better magazine selection than Borders)

Just a heads up, apparently the 'list price' is not always the same as the regular price on their albums. I went in to grab some cds that were marked $13.99 and $14.99 regular price. Since 40% off those prices is less than $9.99, I initially gave the cashier that coupon. Each disc came up around $11 each and I asked why. Turns out the 'list price' was $18.99 on each of them. Since I had a printout of the other coupon as well, I gave her that and saved the extra $3.

The good thing about Barnes And Noble's card is you get 10% taken off right away[and sometimes 20%]with no coupon needed.

I was able to use the $9.99 coupon on The Glove - Blue Sunshine Deluxe Edition, which is a double disc set priced at $24.99 and in a bulky package. Checker didn't look at it twice.
