30th Anniversary Edition SE 2-Disc DVD for 2008?

Moving on now to a 30th Anniversary Edition 2-Disc SE DVD, which of these 1978 films would you most like to see upgraded?

Since Invasion of the Body Snatchers was done recently, my picks are:

Watership Down (with some extras this time!)
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (though the 25th was decent)
Lord of the Rings
Drunken Master
Any Which Way But Loose

Well, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers was just rereleased, and Grease had the "Rockin' Rydell" Edition released fairly recently.

I'd go with Animal House. Yes, I know it's been, well, triple-dipped, but I think it could have even better treatment done to it.

LotR for me. I'd love to see a new set of both films together, remastered with a shitload of extras.

I can't think of any from 1978, Grease would have been my pick but the recent special edition is fine with me.

LOTR would be interesting if just for a commentary by Ralph Bakshi since it'll be 2 1/2 hours of an ego trip.

Animal House is fine for now. The remaster was approved by John Landis, it has 5.1 and original mono, documentaries, and a bunch of other extras.

Why no 35th Anniversary thread? 2008 is Westworld's 35th.

Wasn't there a rule about starting all these threads/polls?

Again you've listed another title that just got a 2-disc SE (Body Snatchers '78).

The Buddy Holly Story should be on this list. The current DVD release of it is shit. Pretty sure it was released in the 90s. Check out the cover art too, if you ever get a chance. It too is shit. I'd like to have audio commentary from Gary Busey on this. I wonder if he would treat it seriously or if he'd just be the goofball that he has become. Not that it can sully his Oscar-nominated performance here.

I don't know if you meant a new Busey commentary or one at all. Check the current dvd. There's a feature length commentary from the director Steve Rash and Garey Busey. Busey is a big Buddy Holly fan. He even owns a guitar that belonged to Buddy. The commentary is done in a respectful manner and you can tell he's very sincere.

^ Well, I guess his apparent goofball persona has come on stronger in recent years since the original audio commentary was recorded. I never did hear that though and missed it the time I rented it years ago.

Hmmm... this is a tougher one since most movies that I would recommend for a 30th Anniversary Edition already have decent versions out now:
Superman
Dawn of the Dead
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Animal House
Grease

to name a few...
