Circuit City threadcraping

Ever since "the incident" with CCity, each and every thread in the DVD bargain forum that gets started about a bargain gets threadcraped by people not talking about the bargain, but about the whole ad posting issue.

I really don't think this should be encouraged or allowed.

There are posts and places to talk about the ad posting matter, right? Do we really need people saying they hate CCity and won't shop there in every thread about sales and bargains at CCity?

So, what you are saying is that you don't want to see this fella anymore?

After what they did to this forum, Geoff and Speedy, I say screw em. They deserve every bit of it.

You think CCity gives a damn that someone says "I hate Circuit Shitty" any time someone mentions the store?

The only "they" reading it are those looking for bargains, deals and sales.

Yeah, I don't like what they did either. But when I'm in the bargains forum, I'm looking for bargains, not stale bitching and moaning about CCity.

I agree.

But depending, on how the case goes, I'd also probably agree if it was later decided that talk about the store was no longer welcome on the board.

That being said, we don't have that store in my country!

Boy, regardless of the outcome, if "talk about the store" was "no longer welcome on the board," it would be a sad, sad day for this forum.

I agree with the OP: threadcraps in every single Circuit City thread are annoying.

I think they certainly give a damn when a forum as big and well known as this has such a piss poor corporate image of them.

If it really bothers you, then you should be reporting the posts to the moderators. If it's not getting done, then you can e-mail Geoff.

The way I see it, somehow, someway, Circuit City was aware of Speedy's postings so, someone from that company must have eyeballed these forums at one point... likely they still are primarily to make sure Speedy isn't still here posting his "specials"... so, I like the Circuit Cirty thread-crapping... let those corporate fat-cats see how much the public hates their company now.

I think everyone should be encouraged to buy their loss leaders, and not buy big ticket items. That's one way to get back at them.

Just give it some time and the thread crapping will go away. The same thing happened at the beginning of 2007 with Amamzon. I think the more you fight it the more strongly people feel that they need to remind everyone what a crappy corporation CC really is. Ignore them and they'll go away in good time.

And since you all seem to know that CCity and their lawyers are watching this forum, maybe not behaving like a bunch of swearing, revenge seeking, cry-baby children would be advisable?

Seriously. When I first heard what had happened and the ad info would no longer be here, I was ticked. But the more I see the constant "I hate Circuit Shitty and won't shop there" comments in any thread that dares mention the store or its offerings, all it does is make we WANT to shop there.

The way I see it, the thread wherein you were endlessly complaining was not started by you, and the issue with CC was brought up by the OP in the first post (and was the reason for the poll), so it wasn't threadcrapping.

Edit: And if you do think it's threadcrapping, instead of threadcrapping yourself by commenting on it, just report it to the moderator.

I'll second that. And it's not just Circuit City threads, but any thread that references CC tends to veer off track.

I agree that it's annoying when its not the subject of the thread and it gets sidetracked.

Wrong. The thread was about the CCity ads for that week and had nothing to do with the "issue."

Yeah, right, make me out to be the problem, not the people who feel the need to say "Circuit City sucks" in every thread that dares mention their name. Whatever.

And here class, is a demonstration of a lack of a sense of humor on an internet forum. i.e, taking things waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously.

Just face it Altimus, you work for Circuit City, and you are worried about your next paycheck... it's OK, go ahead, admit it and we'll stop...

I think threadcrapping in Circuit City threads should be mandatory.

Frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of not reading it in every thread.
