Judge Judy: Justice Served - Sept 11

Hadn't seen a mention of this here, so I thought I'd bring it up in case anyone is interested. Judge Judy: Justice Served will be out next week, Sept 11.

It's 106 minutes of the "best and most outrageous moments." TVShowsOnDVD has some more info on it. Retail is $20, but DDD has it for $12.19 shipped.

The extras, which is what I really think makes the DVD interesting, are:

* Judge Judy promos
* Judge Judy: Walke of Fame
* Judyisms: Judy at Her Best
* 60 Minutes interview
* 60 Minutes 2 interview

Personally, I can't stand her. I liked Judge Mills Lane so much more...but do we really need this on dvd?!

I can't wait for this DVD! My wife (incidentally a court clerk) and I love watching her. It was only a few weeks ago that I wondered why she didn't have a 'best of' out yet.

Don't like it, don't buy it... pretty simple - no need to threadcrap.

They wouldn't release it if they didn't think there was a market for it... and maybe this will tell them just how big the market is for this type of release.

Come on, it's a woman yelling at crack-whores, trailer trash, and redneck crackers. What's not to love?

No thanks.

If it was the People's Court with Judge Milan I'd probably rent it.

Well said.

If you don’t like it don’t buy it, what’s the big deal. I see the same thing posted many times whenever a game show DVD is released, if you don’t want it, don’ buy it. It’s that simple.

Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean everyone else hate it as well.

Since it'll be available for around $10 retail, I think it's more than worth it for the 60 minutes interviews, if you're a fan.

There will definitely be a market for this. I assume they'll be advertising it big time during her show (incidentally, the new season starts the same week this comes out). And given the fact that it's one of the top 10 daytime shows, surely it'll generate a TON of sales for such a cheap DVD--people always want to know more about who she is "behind the scenes."

Yeah, with some easter eggs showing her "behind chamber doors" if you get my drift.

Agreed. Don't like her, don't buy and don't respond.

I love her show. She's tough as nails and I love the way she deals with those low lifes. And for the record, lots of people must love her. Her show is still a huge syndication hit. I'm renting this at a minimum.

I'm not sure if I'll buy this, but she's my favorite of the tv judges, with either a VERY close second place (or possibly tied) Judge Mathis who's different enough, where he harasses and at times belittles the people on the show but with a good amount of humor. Milan is a distant 3rd, with the others out there even further in the distance.

I'm amazed they were able to get the rights for a DVD release.

With all the must-have titles still not available on DVD, someone decides this needed to see the light of day? Please tell me what poor sap spent money he earned on this.

LOL wow, not a lot of love in this thread.

Keep in mind, Judge Judy is one of the top 10 daytime shows and has been for years. She's watched by more than 10 million people daily. Quite often, her ratings surpass Oprah's. She's under contract for more than $25 million/year. That's more than any prime-time star, I think. This is her 12th season and she's contracted through 2010.

The real question is, why on earth did they wait so long to create this easy money-making machine? Man, I'd have started creating these when DVDs first came out and people would buy anything just because it was on DVD.

Well I agree that there are much more important TV shows that need to be released on DVD/More seasons released, wouldn’t you rather have a Judge Judy DVD being released than say, The View on DVD… now that would be horrific.

Yes because Allumination Filmworks obviously has the rights to The Magnificent Ambersons.

The worst one currently on is Judge Alex, an insipid white-bread automaton.

My problem with this show and all other "Judge" shows, is they are fake and hold no legal authority.

I've heard a few stories that Judge Judy's show sometimes paid both parties a sizable sum to appear on the show and argue a fake case, so she could do her trademark routine for the cameras. I've also heard other tales that the "cases" were handled by her in a civil manner off camera, then when it was time for taping, they were told to go wild for the cameras.

KillerCannabis, threadcrapping is against forum rules. If you aren't interested in the DVD, please don't post in the thread.

Yeah, I thought Koch was the best TV judge since Wapner.
