Halloween (Zombie)---> December 18th

Just found out that I have a theatre right around the corner from me that has digital, so I was lucky to view it that way. It was a pretty good film, gory as hell, sometimes over the top...but that's Zombie for you!

Haha, you know I was actually semi-expecting this to either be on Disc for this Halloween (a la bare bones) or Disney holding it till next year. We'll probably get a 1-discer for xmas, and then a better set next halloween (or in time for the sequel you know they've put in development).

Rob Zombie did mention that he plans putting a "Director's Cut" out there. Of course, the doesn't mean much, but, in this case, it seriously needs to pan out with this film.
This movie is not complete as it, and still needs work. A "Director's Cut" might be able to salvage some of it.
And I prefer it be released right away on DVD -- I don't really want to wait a year or for something that never happens. Zombie needs to put it together now before his next projects. Basically, it should be the "officially" released DVD release that people see when it hits DVD.

But don't expect an even bloodier "director's cut" — maybe that should be "director's slash" — when Halloween comes out on DVD.
"There will probably be a director's cut but not necessarily based upon violence," Zombie said recently.

I also really question that release date because nothing official has been stated yet. That's probably just a temp. date that website threw up there.
If this were official, this news would be plastered all over the place at horror sites, etc.

Naturally I’ll be getting this, because I want to see for myself if it’s good or not. I expect that the release date mostly likely will change though; December 18th is pretty close considering it was just released in theatres this past weekend.

Mod note: The whole post was essentially a so it was removed. Please don't spoil movies, even if you think they were the worst of the year, and if you think it is you shouldn't be posting here in the first place

Cranberries Fan - I'd spoiler tag that, that's not cool. I didn't like the movie either, but you shouldn't spoil it for people, especially in a thread that's just about the DVD release. (plus, it's 2007, not 2008)

Weinstein partners with MGM for theatrical releases. MGM handles theatrical distribution and Weinstein handles home video. Weinstein is currently HD DVD exclusive... although they haven't released/announced any titles since June.
