Friday Night Lights at Wal-Mart
They spilt the season 1 box set in half and are selling Vol. 1 (14 eps.) and Vol. 2 (8 eps.) for 11 bucks each.
Way to drop the ball on fans Wal-Mart.
Also their "exclusive bonus disc" with Heroes has 4 episodes of FNL on it along with a preview of Bionic Woman. Nothing pertaining to Heroes at all.
Easily the worst store to buy DVDs at. Too bad it's the only one in town.

When I saw the 10.99 price on part 1, I thought it was the entire set at first and that it was a price mistake. Then I saw part 2 right next to it and realized why it was so low.
I agree that it was stupid to split it up into 2 parts.

I think it's a smart move. For people looking to get into this series, $11 isn't much to drop for a tryout, while $20 for the full season might give someone pause. If it gets more people to watch the show, it's a positive.
Plus, it's not like you can't buy the full season set everywhere else.

Although it is an "exclusive" version I guess..... I'll resist and just buy the whole season.

actually, the best thing to do about a series you're unsure about would be to go to the local Blockbuster or Netflix and rent the first disc and take it from there. You'll get the an idea of if you're going to enjoy the show or not usually within the first episodes. Besides $20 really isn't that much to drop on a new release and a whole season at that, particularly if they are offering the whole money back thing.

True, but one could argue that is not true in this specific case.
If you rent and decide not to buy, you are out that $3 or whatever the rental is.
If you buy and decide you don't like it, you still get all your money back.
Better still would be to watch it online or on TV and see if you like it before you buy.
