Casino Royale 3 disc Ultimate edition

from davisdvd.com
http://davisdvd.com/news/rumor.html

According to sources for CBn, the forthcoming ultimate edition DVD for Casino Royale will reportedly contain three discs—one for the feature film and an additional two for special features.

While a release date has not yet been revealed, many Bond fans are speculating that the new Casino Royale DVD could come out around the time Daniel Craig’s Bond 22 hits theatres in November

I seem to remember there being rumors/mention of a more elaborate DVD for Casino Royale around the time when the 2-disc was released. Glad to see that it is in fact coming down the pipeline. Hopefully it will indeed have some very substantial special features to warrant the 3 discs.

Sony, Fox and Disney love the double-dip.

It was expected, but I loved the movie enough that I had to pick up the current edition.

Not Dts, no sale. I'm quite happy with my HK R3 2-discer.

More than happy with my Blu-ray version. But sheesh, seems like Sony tries to milk these things for all they're worth...

Assuming this will also be released on Blu-ray, would this make it the first Blu-ray double-dip?

Are you all really that shocked this is coming out? The 2-disc release had no audio commentary and a bunch of fluffy EPK featurettes. Personally, if there is a Martin Campbell/Daniel Craig commentary and an extensive "Making of" documentary then I'm all over this.

I'm sure you'd be able to find it used for a decent price at a video store or something.

Only if the new bonus features were shot in HD video. If not, there doesn't seem to be much point in it.

The Fifth Element was the first Blu-ray double dip.

Why are people freaking out over no DTS or lack of the international cut? They haven't even announced the friggin' features yet! Honestly, I expect the longer cut of the film and (hopefully) a DTS track to be included. And this is absolutely going to hit Blu-ray, no question. I'm sure they're planning on it being a big holiday seller.

Wrong.

Sony is replacing all previously owned copies of "The Fifth Element" with the remastered version free of charge.

I could be mistaken, but I believe that "Full Metal Jacket" will be the first double dip of either/both hi-def formats when it comes out on October 23rd.

Sony has not discontinued the previous edition of The Fifth Element. You can still purchase the old version if you want it. Athough the studio has set up an exchange program as a goodwill gesture to their consumers, the two discs are considered completely separate releases.

Regardless, it's not a double dip if you don't have to pay for it.

In the US (and I think the UK as well), the film's opening bathroom fight and the stairway fight are both trimmed for violence. It's available in NTSC in Korea, but I don't know if it has DTS.
