DVD Talk Special Edition
I personally think we won't see any further releases.

Nothing has been announced yet. The first season probably didn't sell as well as the company would like so they're holding it back. That's been happening with a lot of shows of late.

DVD Talk Ultimate Edition
The first season was released in October of 2002 so chances are that we will never see more seasons of Malcolm in the Middle on DVD, ever. I really enjoyed Malcolm in the Middle & it was one of FOX’s strongest comedies, it’s too bad the first season DVD didn’t sell well. It might have sold decently but probably not enough for FOX to warrant releasing a second season with it’s original music intact & if they don’t release it with all the OR music intact, people are going to bitch & people won’t buy it anyway. I know it wasn’t quite as good as Malcolm but I wish they released more seasons of The Bernie Mac Show as well.

DVD Talk Legend
I thought the only reason we haven't seen more Malcolm in the Middle had to do with the music rights, I would love to see more seasons on dvd because it was always one of Fox's best comedies. But I watch it pretty regularly in syndication.

I was under the impression that FOX was pleased with Season 1 sales, but unfortunately music rights were holding up future seasons. That seemed to be the general response from FOX when asked repeatedly about it.
