Heroes S1 DVD -- Will it be cut or uncut?
In case anyone doesn't know, Emerson filed a lawsuit against this series because of the garbage disposal scene in the pilot. NBC has edited the scene in the version of the episode available on iTunes.
Anyone know whether or not the scene will be on the DVD coming out next week?
That was easily one of my favorite scenes from the series and it would be a shame if it isn't included on the DVD.

The only "cut" to this scene was that the brand logo on the garbage disposal has been digitally painted out. Nothing else is removed. It's totally seamless. In fact, I just watched the pilot on HD DVD last night and didn't even think to look for it. I'll check again when I have a chance.

How was the scene edited for the iTunes version? If the name was simply removed digitally, that wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me on buying the set (actually, they'd have to eff up the set pretty good to not get me to buy it.)

The way most of the articles I've read about this are written (including the wikipedia one), it sounded like they had to remove the entire scene because Emerson objected to having her stick her hand down the disposal and have it come out mangled. Nobody -- until now
-- has bothered to mention that the "edit" only involved digitally removing a logo. Also seems kind of strange that the NBC/Universal legal department even let the scene go out where there was a brand name visible, especially the trademark of a GE competitor.

I can confirm that the garbage disposal brand logo has been removed from both versions of the pilot episode.
