I have HONESTLY never seen...
The Godfather films, GoodFellas or Casino. Sad, I know. Well, aside from little parts I've seen on cable, but I always stopped because I wanted to watch them on DVD. Now I want to add them to my collection. My roommate has The Godfather Collection, and I was wondering - should I buy that collection myself or will there be a new release coming and just borrow the films from him?
Also, in regards to GoodFellas and Casino, are there any DVD editions I should look out for?
Thanks.

If you want to buy The Godfather films individually and save yourself some cash, then they're on sale this week at Circuit City for $7 apiece. That's a fair bit cheaper than the boxset with the extra disc of special features.
If you're gonna purchase Goodfellas, don't get the 1-disc release in the crappy cardboard case. It's not anamorphic anyway. The 2D SE is a rather nice SE, definitely the way to go, worth the extra money. I was actually able to find the 2D SE of Goodfellas on eBay for like $2.50 a couple weeks ago.
Casino, I personally don't own it, but I wanna think that the 10th Anniversary edition is either your only choice or the choice you want.
Of all those five films, I didn't really like Casino a whole lot, it wasn't a bad movie it was just very average (and far inferior to Goodfellas, a relatively similar movie even as far as mafia moveis go). Goodfellas took some time to grow on me but now it's probably the most enjoyable of the whole lot. The first and the third Godfathers are very good movies, just not something I particularly enjoy to watch very often... A lot of people will trash-talk the third Godfather movie, but I think that's unfair to the movie. The ending to that movie is outstanding, a remarkable conclusion to the trilogy. Personally, I'm not too fond of the 2nd one, but I'm in the minority there...

Actually, it's completely worth it, but only if you're a big fan of the series. It includes a wealth of deleted scenes presented chronologically and some great docs and interviews on the films. Even though you'd save some green I think the best choice would be to buy the box set. It can be had for about $40 or less and, trust me, once you see those masterpieces (aside from part 3) you'll be kicking yourself in the ass for not getting the box set.

I just checked DDD and The Godfather boxset is only $30.88 there. That's cheaper than I thought it'd be, perhaps worth it for the packaging and the extra disc and the satisfaction of owning the boxset.
