Don't know what the heck they're babbling about 1/2 the time, or if everyone at that motel are all just high on Ramon's spraypaint fumes, but I LOVED tonite's outing!
Austin Nichols (with his dopey look) & Ed O'Neill were awesome in that grilling scene: "It could mean a thousand years!" SLAP!
Damn, if only Porn Queen had fed him to Shamu @ Sea World...
Lost count - How many episodes has Bruce Greenwood missed?

During that interrogation, I actually believed, for the first time in this whole series, that Bill used to be a cop.
Best line of the night was from Lawyer Dickstein -- "The bottom tier should be ten off. You don't reward failure Ramon."

This show gives me a headache after I watch each week's episode. Where's it heading? A little part of me was cheering when Bill slapped John for his parrot talking.

I think Greenwood has actually missed 3 or 4 episodes - which is really disappointing, as I thought he was supposed to be the lead.
Oh, and Cass really puts me in a dither because she looks (and behaves) exactly like an ex-girlfriend of mine who I still haven't fully gotten over...

IMO, De Mornay stole the "worst acting job" on this show award during the start of this episode. Her "pissed off grandma" routines haven't sold me yet and everything she says and does feels more forced than Shaun's lines.
That being said, couple things...
1. Butchie came through, again, with the best part of the episode; "And that would be my part? Writing permission slips for who you bang? I wouldn't have time to eat." Now THAT is something I could believe a guy would say to his pornstar ex. Not that N*word tirade he went on a couple weeks ago.
2. I just now realized, with the help of HBO.com, that Dickstein's fiance if Jennifer Grey. I would have never recognized her in a million years. Freaky.
I have NO idea where the hell this show is going or what any of it means but I can't wait to watch the next episode.

Has anyone seen this site? www.johnmonad.com
There are a bunch of search terms on the IMDB message boards. Appears to be an affiliated site.
Kind of interesting.

I love that Bill knows he's not just some guy walking down the street. And people seem to be willing to acknowledge that yes he is special. No one called Butchie crazy when he talked about money appearing out of nowhere. It is really refreshing that everyone doesn't walk around in denial like other shows.
If I was to say what John meant athis moment, I would guess that he's referring to the signing of the contract. Shaun is now gone.

What did he sign to? Link is no longer with Stink Weed and he agreed to a 5 year non-competion clause. Was that his last act for them, signing a kid he really likes to a company he does not?

I have no idea, but he did sign something. Agent? Manager?

I haven't watched the couple of eps, but for the most part I caught up w/ this over the last week - and I love it. Except for DeMornay. She's as miscast as they come. I'm not even going to comment on the kid, because he is just there to surf.
I'm loving Ed O'Neill on this thing. And the guy who plays Butchie is doing a bang-up job.
And seeing a few of the Deadwood regulars saddens me.

So...I haven't really thought this through too much, so feel free to poke holes in it as much as you want, but if we're discussing religious symbolism, what about Link as a Lucifer figure? He "corrupted" Butchie, he's "fallen from grace" in the company he started...I don't know. The idea of Shaun signing some contract with him, with the ominous "Shaun will be gone soon" just made me think about it.
Just a random thought.

I cannot wait to see what happens on Sunday. This will be the second to last episode correct?

I figured Link was the "bad guy," but there has to be a bigger one. He is just not ominous enough. Although like I said before, I do think Shaun signing with him was what John meant by "Shaun will soon be gone."
