Hell's Kitchen Episode 8 (7/23/07)

In case some of you missed the news over the weekend, Hell's Kitchen got renewed for a 4th season, which will air next summer.

http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-fo...news-headlines

Now back to tonight's episode:

Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Chef Ramsay consolidates the five remaining contestants into one team, but first they must compete against each other to impress 100 hungry high-school students. The winner (and a contestant of his or her choice) gets a trip to the Green Valley Ranch resort in Las Vegas, where this year's ultimate winner will be offered a job. Later, a power struggle and a mistake (one too many, actually) mar the dinner service.

Isn't the amount of remaining episodes screwed up again?

I don't know why he felt the need to boot Julia after already booting someone else earlier in the show. I mean, just tell them that they already eliminated their person for that service. Unless that was the plan all along.

I am soo upset that Julia is gone, Bonnie is left. I would have loved to she her atleast be in the top 3. Rock has been a jerk before but to night he was an asshole. It didn't help that Jen kept provoking him, but he came off like a complete arrogant ass tonight. Even when Josh, Bonnie and Rock had to clean Hell's Kitchen he snap at Bonnie for no reason. I hope anybody but Rock wins.

At the end when Chef gave Julia that gift he said to come back and when. Do you guys think she will be back next year? I hope yo see her again.

I had a buddy go to Culinary Arts school. He was there for 4 years. I guess it depends on whether he sends her to get a certificate (~6 months) or a degree (2 or 4 years).

We might have seen the chink in Rock's armor tonight. I doubt they would have shown him be that nasty if he was indeed the winner. I've thought he's had this thing locked up for weeks but he just didn't look good tonight.

Worst final three so far in Hell's Kitchen. I don't see any of them capable of measuring remotely close to the other two winners.

Yeah, without a doubt I see Ramsay sending her to a top school so she won't be around for at least 3 years.

Most definitely. As I said in a previous thread, I think Ramsay would like to hire her. She's the type of chef that works hard, and he admires that. Good show by Gordon to send her to learn more...

I'm really upset that Julia got the boot today. If I were Bonnie, I would have nominated Mask, because she's going to be much tougher than Julia would have been - even though Julia was my favorite.

It was really great of Chef Ramsay to pay for her to go to school - that shows again that he really does have a heart.

I was out tonight so I missed the show. But from what I read here I'm happy that Chef saw the potential in Julia. I'll catch the ep sooner or later.

I thought this was a really good episode.

If it were my dumbass that got booted and I really wanted it I would have refused to leave and finish out the service. Actually, I wouldn't have screwed up enough to get kicked out.

Is sad to see Julia go, but large kudos to Ramsay for doing what he did. If Bonnie gets the boot next week and he doesn't do something similiar, and I were her, I'd feel like mud.

Rock - who I thought was a shoe in - is now my least favorite. I'm almost rooting for Bonnie at this point because I feel like Jen was almost as bad as Rock by provoking him on and on.

Sad to see Julia leave this week but it's great that Ramsay is sending her to Culinary Arts school. I think she really has great potential & her work ethic is 10 times stronger than Rock, Bonnie & Jen all put together.

I loved how useless prick Josh got knocked out of the game. I wish Brad was still in it & not Josh.

Bonnie throwing the fish out because it smelled funny! that's like throwing out Blue Cheese because it smells odd.

Anyway good episode & from what I saw in the preview, it looks like Bonnie is going to get "All up in Chef Ramsays face!". I'd love her to be my nanny, But like Rock said, she doesn't change diapers, do the laundry or anything besides cook.

Well I'm sure that was edited for dramatic effect. Last week it looked like Rock was giving his goodbye speech, but infact it was his lament prior to the cut.

Also, there was a BBC KN episode where Ramsay had this kid get up in his face on purpose. They kept shoing take after take because he couldn't get what Ramsay was looking for. Quite funny!

Another over-the-top episode. Josh was definitely a plant. Who the heck puts up 8 skillets of pasta up before orders are even being taken? And then after being scolded about it, puts up more.

Jen is another plant. There is just no way that a "legitimate" contender, knowing what the show is, would take spaghetti out of the trash, wash it, and use it again.

The planned sabotage is getting more obvious with each show. How do pots of food simply vanish?

I agree Rock was a bit over the top, but when Jen tells him to wait while Ramsey is yelling for scallops, what was a guy to do?

Did anybody catch the weird "special effect" last night? When the girls came back from Vegas and showed the picture with last years winner, it was just cheaply pasted on the "photo" I think Bonnie was looking at it, and the paper was moving in her hand, but the image stayed still. I don't know if they just did some enhancement to make the picture more clear, or if the entire image was placed in there during editing.

I forgot to talk about this point. My observation:

Rock told Bonnie to wait, but she went ahead because her food was done. Then Jen turns around and tells Rock to wait and gets all pissed that she'd "tell him what to do".

I'd buy this, EXCEPT, Rock hesitates to give the food to Ramsay. If he had of said "yes chef" immediately and gone up there I buy his answer in the interview. However, he didn't so I call total BS on his camera interview after service saying, "chef called for it so i gave it. i wasn't trying to sabotage anybody."

My comments:

I have to laugh at Bonnie when she threw the Monkfish away since it smelled terrible, I guess she never smelled a monkfish!

It is about time the Rock screwed up!

I am suprised Julia is gone!

And as for Josh, good riddance, he couldn't cook a shit, glad he left!

Bonnie is the only person I like now, I hope Jen and Rock loses and Bonnie wins the whole thing!

I try to like Bonnie, but it's just too hard, due to the fact that she's such an airhead. She'd always bring up the fact that Julia didn't have any proper work experience, and yet she was only a nanny herself!

Also, she breaks down too often to be a real leader in a kicthen. Rock and Jen are both asses, but they do have leadership qualities, and they both have the experience and the brains to be able to run their own kitchens.

I love how in the beginning of the epispode a few of them acted really, really surprised that they were being merged onto the same team. I didn't subscribe to the "plants" theory until then, it's either that or they signed on to a reality show/contest that has been on for two seasons before ever watching it themselves.

I don't understand how you people can like Bonnie. She's an indecisive, whiny 'dumb blond' who would clearly buckle under the pressure of running her own kitchen.

My vote is still on Rock.
