Contacting Media-Blasters? Defective "Hell High"

Any idea of how to contact Media Blasters? The address on their website ([email protected]) kicked back an error.

I'm one of the apparently many people who bought a copy of "Hell High" that has a mastering problem that cuts 4 minutes out of the movie. A lot of people who bought the movie as part of the "High School Horrors" 3-pack got fixed copies, but I wasn't one of the lucky ones.

Anybody have any luck getting their copy replaced? From what I've seen, their is no way to identify on the packaging if you'll be getting a good copy or not.

There are a couple of missing scenes, but one of them really screws up the movie.

Try [email protected]

They are notoriously bad with answering customers however. That reminds me, I still never got the corrected Zombi 3 disc. I do have their address...though.

Thanks.

What was the deal with Zombi 3? I got that as part of the 3 disc zombie collection but haven't opened it yet. If there is anything wrong with it, is there any way to tell from the packaging?

Sigh....

The first release omitted some interviews and a commentary, but IIRC the Zombi 3-pack has the corrected version.

Well, I heard the High School Horror 3-pack had the corrected version of "Hell High" and it doesn't always. Is there any way of telling by looking at the cover of Zombi 3 to see if you've got a corrected one? I don't want to get burnt twice.

If your disc has commentary, then it's the corrected one. The original advertised it on the box but it was missing from the special features.

What scenes are missing from HELL HIGH and at what point? The DVD I have has an 84-minute running time so I assume it's the corrected remaster?

I've tried my best to get a replacement disc for the scrambled last disc in the Invader Zim set for a while now. I've called EVERY phone number for Media-Blasters. They all leed to fax machines.

Good luck trying to get them to respond. I had a defective Berserk anime vol 1 and sent emails for a month. Luckily the media play where I bought it kept exchanging it for me. I went through 6 copies all defective. When they got replenished with a different batch, I got a good copy.

Media Bastards have craptacular quality control and apparently customer service to match. I've had to exchange several bad copies of their disks over the years, but thankfully have only had to deal with retailers rather than MB directly.

I just purchased their British Horror Quadruple Feature set a few weeks ago and had to exchange it three times because all four disks in the set were defective, skipping and freezing throughout the movie. And every set I exchanged them for was also defective in the same spots. I finally gave up as I ran my local Best Buy out of all their copies.

So it's a love-hate relationship with MB. They release some cool titles, and their repackaged sets are often a great bargain. But you take your chances on getting disks that actually work.

Great. I just bought that British set and haven't opened mine yet. Haven't seen any copies in my local (Los Angeles) Best Buys.

Thanks! I hope it works out for you. I have an unopened copy of the British set. If you don't me asking, which were the problem titles and what was the problem. If I know what to look for, I'll check those discs first.

The problem that I had with my "Hell High" DVD was a common problem shared by many people. It may have even been a problem with the masters used to create the DVDs.

The problem discs were The Flesh and Blood Show and The House of the Whipcord. They both freeze up and won't play after about an hour.

What should I look for on the Hell High disc?I will be buying that soon.

I'll have to go back to the disc to find out where, but there is about two minutes of missing movie about 2/3rds of the way in. From what I understand, the disc was made from a bad master.
