Chemical Brothers - We Are the Night

It's hard to criticise the whole album, yet, as I'm up to track 10, a full opinion will come after I listen to it this afternoon, but... and I mean but, there's one track I am simply astounded made it on the album

- The Salmon Dance (with Fatlip): a hideous song, that sticks out like a sore thumb - it's mindnumbingly bad IMO. The song should have been released as a b-side on a twelve inch where it would have been forgotten.

my fave song (so far): 'Das Spiegal'

I actually think it's pretty funny in a Biz Markie sort of way. It's meant to be awful and a joke, IMO.

at least it's a short song... if it's a joke it still comes off as 'embarassing' if you ask me.

"The Salmon Dance"

For the love of God, this is embarassing, what a waste of time. For someone who has all their original Dust Brothers vinyl from the day they were released, how can one listen to "Fuck Up Beats" or the "Chekov Warp Vocal" and then pretend to take this seriously?

I kind of enjoy "The Salmon Dance". It comes no where near the awfulness of "Left Right" from "Push The Button". At least "Salmon" is INTENTIONALLY laughable.

Album is really solid, otherwise. Maybe their best since "Surrender". I agree with Giles, "Das Spiegal" is pretty great.
