RIP Joel Siegel

Joel was the film critic for Good Morning America for over 25 years. He passed away at the age of 63, after battling colon cancer.

Wow. He was about the only movie critic that I agreed with most of the time.

Being someone who lost his father at a young age, I'm completely saddened by this. I thought his tirade against Clerks II was uncalled for, but damn, this really saddens me just because of what I said in the first sentence. Rest in peace, man, I may have disagreed with you a few times, but in the end, you'll be missed.

No freaking way!

Man, that sucks - I thought he was one of the better critics on TV. That is sad news, indeed.

Sad news.

He was definitely one of the finest film critics to ever grace the world of cinema. Would rank him right up there with Gene Shalit and Rex Reed.

I didn't necessarily agree with him all the time, but his comments were always sensible, and he was never mean-spirited. Sad news.

Me neither. In fact, I saw him on GMA only maybe a month ago.

RIP

Yes he was, at least when it came to "Clerks II."

I lost a lot of respect for the man after the whole debacle over Clerks 2 but up to that point he seemed like a professional and funny guy. Still sorry to see him miss out of many years worth of movies due to an untimely demise.

Anyone who walks out of a Kevin Smith movie is good in my books. May Joel Siegel R.I.P. he was truly one of the best critic's & I actually agreed with him most of the time (esp. with Clerks 2).

Joel Siegel July 7,43'-June 29,07'.

On a side note, this has been a horrible week for life. How many more famous people are going to die?

You can walk out of any movie you want.....you just don't cause a scene like he did. I keep the Opie and Anthony bit with Kevin talking to Joel on my iPod. It's fun to listen to once a month or so.
